Essie Nail Lacquer- Fiji

Nude, light polishes are definitely my nail colour of choice and I am absolutely kicking myself that I hadn't purchased Essie Fiji before now. I've heard such good things about it and always swooned when I've seen it on others nails, but for some reason never quite got round to buying it, until recently of course, when I picked it up and have been loving wearing it pretty much every day since.

Fiji is the lightest Pink, almost White shade that sits perfectly in Essies diffusion line in Boots and Superdrug. Applying absolutely beautifully with the wide brush, two coats of polish provides you with the most opaque, neat and shiny Pink toned White shade that I honestly can't get enough of. Drying time is reasonable and I find that it also has pretty good staying power, staying chip-free and lovely looking for days on end.

Having been wearing this for weeks on end already, I predict that this is going to be my nail colour of choice throughout the Summer. Available in Boots and Superdrug, Essie diffusion line polishes cost £7.99 and are available in a stand of around 90 incredible shades, including a whole load of pretty Pinks and Nudes.

What do you think of Fiji? Do you like White toned polishes?

Boots Let's Make It Happen

This year, Boots have launched a new campaign called Let's Make It Happen, which has been launched with one thing in mind; to encourage people to take action on their personal body, health and beauty goals. A few weeks ago I posted about Boots Let's Give It A Go, which was a campaign set up by Boots to encourage you to try new trends, and this is pretty similar in that it's all about change, though this time they are supporting changes throughout the whole spectrum and want to help offer encouragement with things we want to change in our lives, whether it be to stop smoking, start going to the gym or to encouragement to visit more frequently or to help with any skin and body confidence issues that we have. Boots Let's Make It Happen wants to help you identify what is is you want to change and thus, how you will get there- pointing you in the right direction whether it be with products or support.

I find inspiration images and boards a great way to remind myself of my personal goals and after setting myself a couple of personal beauty goals for this year, I have created a Pinterest Board called #bootsletsmakeithappen to pin all of my current online inspiration and product pictures that I come across to share with you.

If you fancy creating a #bootsletsmakeithappen Pinterest board like I have, Boots will be sharing their favourite on their Facebook page and I certainly can't wait to see what images you use for inspiration.

Boots currently have a partnership running with Mumsnet as well as various radio stations and aired on a Feel Good Forum on Mumsnet they cover weekly discussions such as getting Summer ready, feeling and looking good and even sleep troubles. I actually tuned into the Beauty Boost discussion and learnt some pretty handy tips for speedy morning make up and how to open up my eyes a little and thoroughly enjoyed it. The last Feel Good show has unfortunately already aired, but luckily enough they are still fully accessible online.

Do you have any beauty changes that you want to accomplish this year? Will you be creating a #bootsletsmakeithappen board?

Laura Mercier Créme Smooth Lip Colour in Palm Beach

I love a Summer bright and since the sun has been shining over the last few days, I've loved nothing more than applying this Laura Mercier Créme Smooth Lip Colour in Palm Beach* to add a beautiful pop of Summer colour.

It's described as a Tangerine Pink which I think is pretty spot on. There isn't an overbearing amount of Orange running through it, but there is an Tangerine toned vibrancy to it which I love and find really nice for Spring Summer. In the tube it does look a lot more Orange Red which I must admit I was kind of looking forward to, but on the lips it's certainly a lot Pinker, which although is not what I was expecting, I am pleased about. It actually really reminds me of a discontinued MAC lipstick that I used to wear, but annoyingly I can't put a name to.

The formula is nice and creamy and I find a couple of sweeps of the perfectly pigmented product gives you the perfect shade and opacity. It feels super smooth and light on the lips and with Vitamin E and Pure Olive Oil playing a part in the products ingredients, my lips feeling pretty nourished and fortunately not too dry. As apposed to other Laura Mercier Créme Smooth lipsticks that I have tried, I have found this shade doesn't stay looking as fresh for as long and after just a couple of hours does need a little bit of attention, although this isn't too much of a problem as the colour is beautiful and it applies nice and hassle free.

Palm Beach is new to Laura Mercier and has been welcomed in amongst their Spring range along with thirteen other beautiful shades.

Laura Mercier Créme Smooth Lip Colours cost £20.50 and are available to buy online and at Laura Mercier counters in Selfridges, Space NK, House of Fraser and Liberty.

What do you think of this colour? Do you like Tangerine Pink tones?

Bourjois 1 Seconde Shine Nail Polishes; Green Fizz, Blue No Blues & Méli Melon

When it comes to nail polishes, I definitely prefer a thick, gel-like formula and having said it before and truly sticking to my original thoughts, these Bourjois 1 Seconde Shine Gel Silicone Texture polishes* are absolutely amazing and give beautiful results.

Available with the new Rouge Edition Shine Lipsticks in July, in three new shades for Summer; Green Fizz- 27, Blue no blues-26 and Méli Melon-25 are the perfect additions to Bourjois nail range and everything from the pretty choice of shades to application and drying time to finish is fantastic. Other than the rather elongated bottles that I find a little difficult to store, I can't find any faults with these products and can't rave about them enough.

The formula is the the perfect consistency and with the squared off brush, the polish applies to the nail like a neat dream. Two strokes to each nail and two coats provides you with a beautiful opaque, smooth silicone feel, super shiny, gel-like finish that I personally can't get enough of. Drying time really is tremendously quick too, which is great for me and my only wish is that they were available in some Nude shades, as apposed to the brighter shades. In saying that, though they are slightly brighter nail options, they are perfectly ideal for Summer and completely wearable.

I'm really excited about these polishes and can see them going down an absolute treat come July when they are launched into Boots and Superdrug, costing £5.99 each.

What do you think of these shades? Have you tried any of the Bourjois 1 Seconde Shine polishes?

Smashbox Be Legendary Lipstick- Mandarin

I like a Red lipstick all year around, but when it comes to Summer time, I prefer to take the tone down a couple of shades and up the brightness and I think I have found the perfect product, formula and shade for my take on the Red Summer lip.

With an Orange tone running throughout it, which adds a beautifully bright hue to the shade, it is still in the Red family, but sits on the lips slightly more subtle and muted, which I find is perfectly complimentary for the Summer.
The formula is extremely creamy and pigmented and one light sweep creates a perfect opacity and finish. It feels light and creamy on the lips and although I don't find the formula to be super moisturising, fortunately I haven't found it to be drying in the slightest either. Something that I really like is that it fades nicely on the lips rather than bleeding and drying into any creases, making it an easier option if you're bad at reapplying throughout the day.

I really like this lipstick and think it's going to be a great colour to wear in the heat of the Summertime and with 22 other shades in the Be Legendary range, there was always going to be another one I wanted to try, in this case Melondrama, of course, a beautiful Peach that I think will sit in my collection perfectly.

Smashbox Be Legendary Lipsticks are cased in slightly rubberised Black squared off packaging that I really like and costing £15.50 each are available to buy online and at Smashbox Counters in Boots.

Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Intensive Lip Repair Balm

I must admit, I've always been a little fickle when it comes to lip balms and tend to move onto the next one pretty quickly, never finishing a pot or a tube, but nearing the bottom of this product after just a couple of months, I think it's safe to say that I have met my match when it comes to lip balm criteria and I can't get enough of this Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Intensive Lip Repair Balm*.

Eight Hour Cream is one of those products that covers all bases; dry skin, lips, cuts, cuticles, nails- you name it and the original Eight Hour Skin Protectant heals it and highly requested as a duty free product at work, a day doesn't go by where we don't sell out. Though not in quite a while, I have tried my fair share of Eight Hour Cream products, which I liked but I really can't get enough of this pot of Intensive Lip Repair Balm and have found it to work an absolute dream for me.

Unlike most potted balms, this is a super soft balm that I would describe as a rich in-between of a gel/cream/balm and not smelling too much like the original formula, which I remember not really loving, I am super impressed.

I apply it when need be throughout the day and before bed when I remember and find it so hydrating and moisturising on my lips and love the subtle gloss that it leaves.
Without any balm or treatment, I do suffer with slightly dry chapped lips and being as into lipsticks as I am, find it super necessary to have my lips as soft and moisturised as possible and this does the job perfectly. It's healed any dry or chapped areas that I have suffered with and find it lovely on my lips whilst on flights at work in the dry, horrible air conditioning.

Made up of Shea and Palm Tree Butter, Petrolatum, Arnica Oil, Vitamins A and E, Honey Extract and Menthol, this 15ml pot has become an absolute essential for me and available at Elizabeth Arden Counters in Boots, Debenhams, John Lewis and House of Fraser costing £20, if you're looking for an intensive treat for your lips I highly recommend giving this a go.

Selexir Instant Serenity Treatment Peace Balm

Back in November I posted about a product that my mum and I had found on our search to improve and heal the dry and irritated hands that my mum unfortunately suffers with and up until about a month ago, it had worked an absolute dream. Although it continued to do a great job at healing and soothing my mums poor hands, I'm not sure if the root of the problem may have got a little worse somewhere along the line and eventually it wasn't helping as much as it seemed to when she first started using it.

Having tried every doctor prescribed product going and being really careful when it comes to ingredients in products, we are both continually trying to find a product that will stop the irritation and work to heal her hands, which at times can be really super painful.

When I was introduced to this Selexir Instant Serenity Treatment Peace Balm* the ingredients list which is free from Parabens, Paraffin, Silicones and Petroleum really stood out to me and even more so did Selexirs description of the product- a "Rich balm for intensive care of extremely dry and/or irritated skin". I let my mum have a read and with the description completely fitting the bill on paper, she decided to give it a go.

Selexir Peace balm is quite a rich, thick, naturally sweet scented balm which is made up of 21 highly concentrated natural ingredients including Honey, Mango Seed Butter, Beeswax and Blackcurrant Seed Oil that all work to alleviate the discomfort that extremely dry and irritated skin can bring, and having applied a small amount of balm around three times a day for the past couple of weeks, my mum has seen a drastic improvement and she's absolutely over the moon. Her hands both appear and feel a lot less dry and the Red, cracked and irritated areas have become a lot less severe. She loves that it acts as a great barrier cream too, although isn't so keen that with it being so rich, it does take a fair while to sink into the skin.

Although my mum only uses this on her hands, this balm can be used all over the body in any sensitised areas including the face, ears, neck and elbows and is said to be really great for minor cuts and grazes, inflamed spots, flaky cuticles, as an after shave/wax balm, sunburn, nappy rash, cracked heels and lips and light to medium eczema too.

Available online and exclusive to the Urban Retreat in Harrods, costing £20 for the 15ml travel size, £39 for 30ml and £99 for the 75ml tube, this product doesn't come cheap, but it does seem to work absolute wonders and if you're suffering with your skin and like my mum seem to have tried everything, I really would recommend it.

Selexir have very kindly provided me with a discount code to share with my readers and running from the 22nd April-5th May 2013, you can receive 15% off at selexir.com with the promotion code 'BELLE'.

I would absolutely love to know your thoughts on Selexir Peace Balm if you have tried it or whether you think you'll be treating your dry skin and giving it a go.

Estée Lauder Pure Colour Sheer Matte Lipstick- Rock Candy

A couple of months ago now, I attended an Estée Lauder event at The Soho Hotel and on arrival the range of Pure Colour Sheer Matte Lipsticks stood out to me almost immediately. I think it was the range of shades that first grabbed my attention of these twist function lipsticks, and after giving them a little swatch, I was really impressed with the ease of application and the high pigmentation that they each seemed to offer.

The Estée Lauder Pure Colour Sheer Matte lipstick swatched above is in the shade Rock Candy* and it's a perfectly bright toned Orange Red which is a shade I absolutely love. I've worn it on a few occasions now and as much as I continue to apply it because the colour is so beautiful, unfortunately I don't seem to be able to get on with the formula very well, which is strange as I'm very much used to wearing a matte lip.

On application, this is an absolutely perfect lip product- the product itself is quite thin which helps for a perfectly precise application and although described in the title as Sheer Matte, the colour gives a fully opaque finish which I really like. On initial application, the product doesn't feel too drying and actually feels pretty comfortable on the lips, but I have found a couple of times that after 2-3 hours of wear, this is slightly too drying and uncomfortable for my lips and in some situations, have found it to be a little bit of a nightmare to reapply on top, without starting over, which I personally find to be such a shame.

Up until the stage when this does start to feel a little dry on my lips, it's a reasonably pleasant product, which is why I have continued to use it; it's a beautiful Spring Summer colour and applies on the lips nicely, but unfortunately it's not one for me to wear alone for long periods of time and is definitely for more of a pop of colour for shorter periods as apposed to whole days out.

These Estée Lauder Pure Colour Sheer Matte Lipsticks are limited edition and are available in four shades online and at Estée Lauder counters in SelfridgesBootsDebenhams and House of Fraser costing £19.50.

Bourjois Shine Edition Lipsticks

In my opinion, Bourjois can do no wrong at the moment and have created yet another new range of lipsticks; Bourjois Shine Edition*, at the perfect time for me. Usually one for a matte to semi-matte finish, I have found myself recently opting for more of a shiny finish on my lips and these three products are the perfect timed additions to my collection.

Not long ago I posted about Bourjois previous lipstick launch, the Rouge Edition Collection, which I absolutely love and I'm pretty sure that these new Shine Editions are on par with my love for the formula and although there aren't as many shades in this collection, the eight additions that are set to be added to Bourjois counters are absolutely beautiful. I was kindly given the chance to try 20- 1,2,3 Soleil, 22-Famous Fuchsia and 24-Rose xoxo and as I'm sure you can tell from the swatches above, they are all delightful shades that offer a lovely glossed finish.

1,2,3 Soleil is a brightening Orange Coral, Famous Fuchsia a bright Fuchsia toned Pink and Rose xoxo, a slightly sheerer shade than the others, in a Pink slightly shimmery hue.
My favourite of the three is most definitely 1,2,3 Soleil because I'm a great lover of Corals and think it is going to be absolutely beautiful worn in the Summer but Famous Fuchsia is also really very stunning too and I love how highly pigmented it is.

The formula of these lipsticks is a dream to work with and although when I first saw them I thought they were going to be more similar to lip butter type products I have tried quite a lot of recently, though similar in the creamy, soft and moisturising texture on the lips- they are extremely pigmented and seem to appear more lipstick like on the lips.

As much of a fan as I am of the formula, shades and high shine pigmentation that these lipsticks offer, I'm not really the biggest fan of the mirrored, colourful packaging. Although like I just mentioned, with the great quality that these do offer, this really isn't an important factor at all, but normally I do like my lipsticks to look a less understated which to be honest is probably just my boring side coming out.

I'm really excited about this launch and can't wait to get my hands on some other shades, but unfortunately there is still a little bit of a wait until launch and these Bourjois Shine Edition Lipsticks won't be available until mid July 2013, where they will be available to buy in both Boots and Superdrug.
