Illamasqua Sculpting Powder Duo

Sculpting, contouring, cheekbone faking- whatever you want to call it, I love it and will continue to search for the best products to do it with. I've tried my fair few products when it comes to sculpting out those cheekbones and this Illamasqua Sculpting Powder Duo* is well up there with the best.

The mirrored Illamasqua compact is home to two shades; Lumos- a shimmering Pink toned Champagne and Heliopolis- a matte Brown, and together they work to sculpt and highlight the face in the most perfect way.

It's often quite difficult to find the perfect contour shade and Heliopolis is one of the closest to perfect shades I have come across. Not too Grey and not too muddy looking, it gives quite a subtle shadow shade perfect for getting into those (barely-there) cheekbones. I'm currently really enjoying using my Sephora Contour Brush with this and like to dust the contour shade through my cheekbones up to the top of my ear, along my jawline, down the sides of my nose and in my temples and find it works perfectly.

Lumos is a highlight shade that I wasn't sure I would love when I first laid eyes on it. It's ever so slightly Pink toned, which put me off somewhat to begin with, but dusted over the high points of my face including the tops of my cheekbones, down the centre of my nose and on my cupids bow, it gives a really pretty subtle sheen that catches the light in the most beautiful way.

Although both could be used in a much more strong, dramatic fashion, I really love that this Illamasqua Sculpting Powder Duo doesn't work too strongly on first touch and gives really subtle, natural results to what on some occasions can be quite harsh.

I'd recommend this to both those that are new to contouring and those that are pros and am really pleased that it's a part of my collection.

Available to buy now at Illamasqua stores, online and at counters in Selfridges and Debenhams, this Illamasqua Sculpting Powder Duo costs £26.

Have you tried this duo? I'd love to know what you use for contouring and highlighting.

Revlon Colourburst Matte Balms- Elusive, Complex and Mischievous

Since hearing of the launch of the new Revlon Balms over the grapevine, I've been so excited to see the Revlon Colourburst Matte Balms in real life and thankfully, they have not disappointed in the slightest, in fact, after trying just three I'm left wanting more.

Available in ten shades, I chose to try Elusive*, Complex* and Mischievous* and I'm so pleased that I did.
Each incredibly pigmented, which I must admit I wasn't expecting, the Matte Balms apply to the lips beautifully and surprisingly for drugstore matte products, with the Triple Butter Complex that they each hold made up up Shea, Mango and Coconut Butters, these aren't drying on the lips in the slightest.

Elusive is a Medium Pink that is super complimentary and easy to wear. It's the perfect go-to shade for a daytime look but I think it would work equally well for an evening.
Complex was the shade that being a nude tone I thought I would I would favour the most and although is is a beautiful Caramel shade, I personally don't find it as complimentary as the others. It washes me out a little bit, but I do think with the right make up, it would make the perfect product.
Mischievous is definitely my favourite of the three shades that I have tried and I just know that come Spring/Summer I'm going to be reaching for it a lot. A bright Coral Orange tone, it really is stunning and having a lot of these kinds of shades in my collection already, I'd say it's really comparable to a fair few MAC lipsticks that I own.

Long lasting, incredibly pigmented and creamy, I really can't fault these Revlon Colourburst Matte Balms in the slightest and think that they were definitely worth the wait.

Available to buy now, they cost £7.99 and are available to buy at Revlon counters in Boots and Superdrug.

Do any of these three shades stand out to you?

Illamasqua I'm The One Collection

It's been a while since I've worn an intense Red lip, but with the launch of the Illamasqua I'm The One Collection* coming up in just a few days, I couldn't not give it a whirl.

The collection is made up of four pieces all created to reflect and celebrate the colour of love. A new Intense Lipgloss in the shade Touch (£14.50), a new Colouring Pencil in the shade Feisty (£14.00), a Lipstick in the shade Maneater (£16.50) and a Nail Varnish in the shade Throb (£14.50) are the pieces in the I'm The One collection and together they make for the perfect look.

Each of the products are incredibly pigmented and the lip trio worn together creates the most intense Red lip that sits on really nice and comfortably.

Feisty* is a creamy and easy to apply lip pencil that I think would be versatile enough to wear with a fair few Red lipsticks. I like to apply it first to line the lips and then I often go back in with it at the end of my make up application to touch up any lines that may have been smudged or need adjusting.
Maneater* is a really lovely lipstick that offers on it's own a full coverage opacity. It sits on the lips really nicely and even worn alone sticks around for a fairly long time without bleeding.
Touch* is the kind of lipgloss that normally I would steer away from; incredibly pigmented and super shiny, Touch carries a fine shimmer but adds the most delightful fullness to your lips that I can't help but love.
Throb* is the perfect Red nail varnish that with two coats gives you a shiny finish and worn with the rest of the collection for an overall all Red look or worn alone as a classic Red is just divine. I think Red is the perfect shade to show off a nicely groomed manicure and so this polish is bound to be a winner in the collection.

Illamasquas I'm The One collection will be available to buy as of the 30th January at Illamasqua stores, online and at counters in Selfridges and Debenhams.

What do you think of this collection? What piece stands out to you the most?

Bourjois New Launches

Bourjois always please me with their latest releases and the line up for 2014 is looking as exciting as past years and collections.

With 2013 being the year of the BB cream, Bourjois have launched their sister CC Cream in the 123 Perfect range in the form of a colour corrector and an illuminating concealer.
Having only used each of the products once or twice, it's impossible for me to give a full review, but on first impressions, I'm really quite impressed.

The CC Cream Foundation* (£9.99) offers three colour correcting pigments; Apricot for an anti-fatigue, awakening look, Green to erase any Redness and White to erase the look of any dark spots. Whilst colour correcting, it also works to hydrate the skin with an oil-free texture that also contains an SPF15 which is fantastic. It sits naturally on the skin and provides a fresh faced look that I'm currently loving.
The CC Eye Cream Concealer* (£7.99) also offers SPF15, which is great for day time use and brightens the under eye area perfectly which is something I'm personally really enjoying in my make up at the moment. My applicator is split which is a bit of a pain, but worked from my hand with a brush, the results are really lovely.

As well as the CC products in the 123 Perfect range, Bourjois have introduced three new eye products to their counters; Beauty'Full Volume Dark Khol Mascara, Mega Liner and Liner Feutre make up the three new eye products and so far I'm really enjoying using them.
The Beauty'Full Volume Dark Khol Mascara* (£7.99) has an hourglass shaped brush unlike any I've seen before, offering full volume and an intense Black look to the lashes. I was a little confused at how to use it to its best potential at first but I think I'm getting used to it now and I'm really enjoying it.
Mega Liner* (£7.49) is a felt tip liner that offers a really easy application via its angled felt tip applicator. I don't tend to go too heavy or thick on the eye, but it helps me to achieve a fine line really easily with a long lasting finish.
Liner Feutre* (£6.99) comes in two shades; Noir Violine- a Purple tone and Noir Moka- a Brown tone. I've been using Noir Moka and so far so good. Again, it's a felt tip liner, though this time with a pointy tip as opposed to the Mega Liners angled tip. This makes it perfect to achieve a really fine line and flick and personally loving to using Brown as opposed to a Black this makes it a winner in my opinion.

All available now in Boots and Superdrug, I'm really impressed with Bourjois' new launches.
Will you be picking up any of their new additions?

Clinique Superdefense Daily Defense Moisturiser

In need of a new day time moisturiser, this Clinique Superdefense Daily Defense Moisturiser* really couldn't have joined my skincare collection at a better time.

Infused with antioxidents, not only does this lightweight silky moisturiser leave my skin feeling incredibly soft and hydrated, it homes ingredients that work to protect your skin throughout the whole day with the added bonus of an SPF20 and so makes the perfect morning time moisturiser.

It's a really nice consistency and although it's targeted to very dry to dry combination skin, I personally find it works really nicely on my current normal to combination skin. The formula is light and silky enough to sit underneath my make up comfortably without causing any products to slip and I love that it adds a really nice amount of hydration to my skin, which is perfect for this time of year and in turn makes my skin look a lot healthier on make up free days which I've been having a lot of recently.

Having reached for this moisturiser on most mornings over the past couple of months, I would definitely class it as a current favourite of mine and I'm really impressed.

Available on Cliniques online store as well as at counters in Selfridges, Boots and John Lewis, a 50ml tub of Daily Defense is available for £39 although there is also a 30ml limited edition tub floating around for £20.

Does Clinique make up any of your skin care regime? Does this Superdefense Daily Defense Moisturiser appeal to your skin?

Clarins Opalescence Spring 2014 Collection

I'm always extremely excited by Clarins seasonal collections and Spring 2014 has a beautiful offering in the form of the beautifully brightening twelve piece Opalescence collection.

Consisting of a limited edition Face & Blush Powder* (£30) to add light into the base as well as add a Rosy tone to the cheeks, a new Mineral Eyeshadow* in a stunning Smoky Plum shade (£17), three new Joli Rouge lipsticks in the shades Tropical Pink*, Coral Tulip* and Pink Orchid (£18), two stunning non sticky and super shiny lipglosses in the shades Coral Tulip and Crystal* (£17), a new Eye Quartet homing stunning Pink and Grey tones (£31) and two Multi-Blush Cream Blushers (£18) in the most delightful of shades- Peach, Candy*, Grenadine and Rosewood*, this really is such a lovely exciting collection and holds some truly stunning shades.

As always, all homed in the prettiest of packaging, the new Clarins Opalescence Collection is absolutely dreamy and I personally think that both the Cream Blushes and the new Joli Rouge shades are the stars of the show and will be particularly lovely for Spring time.

If any of these products have your attention, I'll be sure to feature the singular products over the next couple of weeks, but if you're already keen to lay your hands on them, the Opalescence Collection will all be available as of February online and at Clarins counters in Boots, Selfridges and Debenhams.

Do any of the Opalescence products stand out to you? What are your collection must haves?

Aussie hair care expert Liz Taw will be on hand to answer party hair questions and so it's the perfect opportunity to get those "How do I achieve the ultimate volume?" and "How will I make my waves last all night?" questions answered by a pro.

Another heads up, which those fans of the Aussie 3 Minute Miracle like myself will I'm sure be extremely excited to know, is that two new products will be launching in February and in the form of a 3 Minute Miracle Light Aussome Volume and 3 Minute Miracle Mega Light, these are two hair treatments that I know I for one certainly can't wait to try.

Clinique Neutral Territory 2 All About Shadow Palette

This ones for those of you similar to myself that can't resist a palette of neutrals; this eight pan palette from Clinique offers the perfect array of shades to see you from day through to night, whether you prefer to wear a simple look like myself or something a little more smoked up and dramatic.

The Clinique Neutral Territory 2 All About Shadow Palette* is apart of their 16 Shades of Beige collection which consists of some extremely pretty nudes for both eyes and nails. For me personally, this is the kind of collection to get me excited and this palette certainly hasn't left me disappointed in any way.

Super soft and beautifully pigmented, these shadows each work so complimentary of each other and with that in mind, put together a neutral look perfectly easily. I find they blend really well for a more soft subtle look which is something I prefer to wear day to day, but the formula is equally really buildable if you wanted to wear something more dramatic.

Although formulated to be crease and fade resistant, I'd still personally recommend wearing a eyeshadow primer to be sure of a longevity, but the formula of the shadows is really so nice that with my personal preference aside, you could probably get away without using one at all.

Homed in a super reflective palette with an accompanying double ended brush, this Clinique Neutral Territory 2 All About Shadow Palette costs £32 and is currently exclusive to Clinique online, although it will be available to buy at Clinique counters in BootsSelfridges and Debenhams on 7th February.
