I feel like I haven't done one of these posts in quite a while, the reason being that on my days off of work I've trying to lay off the make up a little bit. I've never had troubled skin, but recently my chin area has really flared up and it just won't calm down. I am so lucky that up until now I've never really had any issues with getting rid of spots or blemishes but I'm having such difficulty trying to banish this troubled area and it's beginning to get to me.
I picked up a sample of the YSL foundation but unfortunately got an unnamed pot so I don't know the shade. I think it's B50 but I'm not certain. An unshaded pot kind of goes against the point, but I'm hoping when I next go to the counter I'll be able to match it with one. I really like it, which surprises me. Don't get me wrong, I wanted to love it, but in all honesty I didn't think it would be for me. It's a few pounds more than I really like to spend on a foundation, but I think it's worth it.
I'm wearing Nars Barbarella here and I have been for the last few days. I got it just before Christmas and wrote here about my disappointed with it, it wasn't how I thought it was when I swatched it and I kind of didn't even give it much of a chance, threw it to the back of my lipstick drawer never to be worn again- until this week when I have absolutely fallen for it. I have found it complimenting my make up so well and with it being a little more sheer, it's been great for work. This is a huge example of don't give up on a product straight away, especially make up. Our styles change, well mine does all the time and what you didn't like a few months ago you might love now. I think you should all find a product that you gave up on and use it this week, maybe you'll find a new love too!
Another new product that I have on here, is Illamasquas powder blush in Lover. It's another matte Coral dream to add to my collection and I adore it. I'm going to pop up a full review very soon, so keep your eyes peeled.
A few weeks ago, I found out that I won the Osis festival hair competition from this post and was sent a fabulous prize including lots of new amazing products. I never win anything, so was so happy and even more pleased when this week I found out that I won the overall competition and bagged two camping tickets to Creamfields! I can't wait to go camping and wear the hair styles that I posted about. I think I'm going to go with the Top Knot or the Tight Bun. Exciting!
I hope you're all very well
xx
Gorgeous as always! x

ReplyDeleteStunning as always.
ReplyDeleteEvery time you do a 'what I'm wearing' blog the majority of the time you wear Nars- Laguna and every time I'm like i must buy this! I am definitely going to purchase it on payday.
Oh and by the way the link to your post about the Osis festival hair competition is linking back to your Nars- Barbarella post.
xx
Love this look. What do you think of the Nars Pore Refiner Primer? Is it worth it? I have combination skin and look for a primer that mattifies and makes my skin look smooth and flawless. will this work or can you reccomend another?
ReplyDeleteThank you
xx
I thought the exact same about the YSL foundation, didn't think it'd be for me but I actually really like it, still not sure I could part with the money for a full sized bottle though! I found it to look fairly similar to Bourjois Healthy Mix on my skin so think I'll just stick with that. Congrats on winning the Osis competition, enjoy Creamfields! x

Congratulations for winning, you're so lucky to go to Creamfields :) I would love to try the YSL foundation too, but I'm worried it won't provide enough coverage (as I like a pretty heavy coverage)!
ReplyDeleteI'm quite liking the YSL foundation too, didn't think it would last on my skin but it seems to. I love the lipstick too, I don't have any Nars lipsticks but I can see that changing soon xx
ReplyDeleteYou always have the most flawless foundation base! Really wanting to try the YSL foundation! Congrats on winning the Osis competition :) xx
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful and so natural, adore this look <3

your skin always looks so dewy and flawless, have always been a bit curious as to what foundations are your favourites. Also, the lipstick is beautiful. Orangey/ reds are my favourite colors. You look gorgeous!
