I just booked a trip to Thailand for me and my boyfriend and am absolutely so excited!
I've wanted to go for ages and so took the plunge and just booked it.
We are going to spend November hopping from island to island and I would love some recommendations, tips and things from you. Whether you have been or just know lots about Thailand I'd love to hear from you.

ReplyDeleteFab babe! Me & hubbie were going to go in the summer holidays around July, we decided to just jump str8 in with our emigration plans to California instead. We planned to fly into Phucket instead of Bangkok, and visit all the fantastic beautiful beaches on the scattered islands. Have you seen the film 'The Beach' with Leonardo Di Caprio? They shot it there. Other than the flight being pretty long - its most certainly worth it babe, my fiancé loves all the adventurous excursions you can do.. ReplyDeleteFor dinner/drinks - go to Sirroco Bar and have dinner at the Banyan tree. They're both rooftop restaurant/bar and the view and experience is just amazing.
Taxis are cheap but always make sure you get a metered one and not one where the taxi driver negotiates a price. Plus the metro is just suuuper cheap.
U have to go to a floating market and see the elephants.
'Ping Pong' shows are going to be shoved down your boyfriend's throat, i.e. when you're shopping in night markets, guys will always try to get your man to see sex shows, regardless of the fact you're standing right there! Anyways we actually went to see one just for fun (judge all u want! lol) DON'T! It's not sexy or funny or an experience u want to experience. They will lure you in saying you only need to buy two drinks but then when you leave they demand stupid amounts of money. Was actually a tense situation. So yeah, AVOID! Seriously.
But apart from that, have a great time. Of all the places I've been I have to say Thailand was definitely my all time favourite destination, and the only country I really really want to go back to, and am planning to actually in September! Hope you have a great time!!! x

ReplyDeleteif you are going to phuket definitely hit up bangla road. it's a strip full of all the bars and clubs. so much fun.
go to the full moon party if you can. but definitely go from koh samui since you only have to take a short boat trip to get to the full moon party if at all. full moon party is one of the best parties in the world so if its happening when you are there i'd definitely check it out.
also phi phi island is gorgeous. tht's where they shot 'The Beach' with leo. thats most definitely where that second picture you just posted was taken :)
