Benefit Refined Finish Facial Polish

Since the likes of muslin cloths and Clarisonics came into my skincare routine, I have felt like all of my facial exfoliation needs were taken care of and as much as it made the whole process quicker and took out a step, I have kind of missed treating my skin to a gentle exfoliating treat.

To keep my routine fresh and my skin happy, for the past month or so, I've gone a little more back to basics and have swapped daily cleansing with my Clarisonic for the best tools one can have, my hands.
In order to keep my skin looking and feeling fresh, I dug out some facial exfoliators from the back of my shelf and decided to give them a go again.

This Benefit Refined Finish Facial Polish* caught my eye first, probably because of the pretty packaging. I must admit, there's something about the Benefit Skincare that I was a little weary about at first, being predominately Cosmetics based, but the beautiful bottles won my shallow mind over and I eventually decided that why wouldn't their skincare be just as great as their much lusted over make up.

Like most exfoliators, this is a lotion that contains microbeads to polish off the dead skin cells and smooth away imperfections and in this case, they are extremely tiny and gentle microbeads that work absolutely perfectly on my skin. The formula also contains natural clay, which I liked the sound of, to help minimise the appearance of pores which is something I am forever trying to achieve.
I use a small amount of product a few times a week and work it into my skin in little circles with a gentle hand and when I feel like my skin is coming up to enough, rinse it off with warm water.
The microbeads that this facial polish includes are pretty tiny and I usually find it takes at least three rinses to get all residue and invisible beads off, which to be honest, is probably my only problem with the product.

Other than my impatient struggle to remove the microbeads, I really do like this polish and love how soft, fresh and radiant it leaves my skin. I haven't noticed that the natural Clay has helped to minimise the look of my pores as such, but to be honest, that was just an added claim that as much as I was hoping would work, wasn't really necessary.

Benefit Refined Finish Facial Polish costs £17.50 and is available online and at Benefit Stores and counters in Boots, Debenhams and House of Fraser

Have you tried any products from Benefits Skincare range? What do you use to exfoliate your face?

  1. I've seen this product passing by on a few blogs a while ago and just like every Benefit product, I really like the packaging. I was so tempted to buy this but I should be more careful with what I put on my face - my skins got a little bit worn out from testing so much so now I'm sticking to only a few products.

    Great post!

  5. I used to use this and really loved it (I used it in the shower to make rinsing off all of the microbeads easier) but I've since fallen for Laura Mercier's Skin Polish it's even better and has a really lovely scent to it!

  6. I've been a bit wary of benefit skincare too, I love their cosmetics but have always thought that the skincare range seems like a bit on the side. That being said I've only ever heard good things about it so may have to give it a go!
