I'm always a little bit dubious when it comes to trying new skin care, especially when I've never heard anyone mention the range let alone heard anyones thoughts on it, but when I read the press release to Medik8s Pore Refining Range*, some of the ingredients caught my eye and I was pretty intreged and excited to give it a go.
Medik8 is a British skincare brand that offer products that are pH balanced, free from parabens, soap and pore blocking sulphates and include ingredients such as Salicylic Acid, L-Lactic Acid and L-Mandelic Acid which over the past couple of years seem to have become more key when looking through the ingredients list.
The clayMask is definitely what stood out to me the most, as it is designed to reduce the appearance of pore size as well as leave the skin refreshed, purified, soft and glowing which is what in an ideal world, I would have anyway. It definitely hasn't disappointed and I find it to work an absolute treat on my skin. I apply this once or twice a week and wash it off with a flannel after about ten minutes, when it is dried and beginning to crack. After using it my skin both feels and looks so good, and with it being suitable for all skin types, I have recommended it to a fair few of my friends already.
Pretty much every day since receiving this range, I've been using the poreCleanse Gel twice a day, not only to give it a fair test, but because quite frankly I can't get enough of this either. I'm nearing my last quarter of the tube and feel a purchase is 100% necessary.
Over the last few months my skin seems to have been a lot more on the combination side and this gel, aimed towards Oily and Combination has sorted it out like a dream. I started using it with my Clarisonic, but decided to stop after a short while as the product kept moving onto my lips as it worked onto my skin, leaving a pretty disgusting bitter taste and I also wanted to go a little more back to basics, to see how it worked.
The formula contains no SLS or soap which is great and although they aren't at the top of the ingredients list, features ingredients such as Salicylic Acid, L-Lactic Acid and L-Mandelic Acid, which I don't feel have been harsh in the slightest and I think have been super beneficial to my skin leaving it looking clear, feeling soft and overall, a lot more even.
The dailyScrub is the product that probably appealed to me the least and although I must admit, I find it to be a little too harsh on my skin to use daily and think that once or twice a week is more than enough, it is a reasonably nice product and my skin does feel pretty clean and soft after using it.
The formula feels a little too gritty which I don't like and I find I spend quite a while getting all the residue off of my skin which can be a pain, but teamed up with the other two products, I couldn't be happier with my skins current state.
The scrub is made up of L-Mandelic Acid which is often compared to Glycolic Acid but without the stinging and Salicylic Acid which is used to to prevent any clogging of the pores, it is also includes ingredients to strengthen the skins barrier whilst soothing, calming and promoting blood circulation through the skin for a healthy tone. Although it is my least favourite of the range, it is okay as a weekly scrub, however if you are after a daily exfoliator, I don't think it's the best available.
I really am so impressed with this Medik8 Pore Refining Range and am so pleased with how my skin currently looks. My pores around my nose area are of course still there, but they look significantly better, less clogged and overall, a lot more clear, as does my whole face.
These Medik8 products cost from £16 and although I wish they were more widely stocked, are available to buy on Dermacare Direct.
Have you tried any of these products? Do they sound like something you would like to try?

These all sound absolutely lovely, but I'm not allowed to buy anymore skincare until I've used up everything I've got, which could take me a few years haha!
