Formula X Polish for Sephora- Invincible

I'm a complete sucker for a pale, neutral toned nail polish and when I saw this Formula X polish in Invincible, standing with the rest of the neutrals in Sephora, it wasn't long before it was in my shopping basket ready to be mine.

I hadn't heard anything about the Sephora Formula X polishes, mainly because I try to avoid looking because we can't get them here (I know Sephora now ship to the UK- but unfortunately, they're unable to ship polishes due to dangerous goods restrictions), but they are incredibly well formulated polishes that come in an array of 200 shades in different families of finishes- New Classics, New Neutrals, The Brilliants, The Sparklers, The Effects, The Celestials, The Superwatts, The Chromes, The Translucents, The Holograms, The Transformers, The Lusters, The Xplosives, The Shifters and The Electrics- phew.

Offering incredible opacity and shine, Invincible has been my go-to nail shade for the past two months and I absolutely love its pastel Peachy Cream tone- described by Sephora as a Warm Vanilla.

The idea with Formula X is that you can buy the singular polishes, or you can opt for a four step kit where you choose one shade from the stand and add it into a pre-made Prep, Perfect and Preserve set- 'The System', which is made up of a Nail Cleanser, a Base Coat, the nail colour of your choice and a Top Coat for $32. I was tempted by this offer, but to be honest, I didn't really need any more base or top coats.
I'm quite pleased that I didn't opt for the set, purely because after wearing Invincible most days since January, I've come to the conclusion that it works best on its own, although I occasionally try to speed things up with a top coat. I'm not sure why it works better on its own, but I've found with a base and top coat, it seems a lot more prone to chipping.

There are 31 shades in the New Neutrals category and priced at $10.50, I think for the colour variety and the amazing formula, they're pretty reasonable.

Will you be adding Invincible into your basket next time you're in the dreamland that is Sephora?

  1. I am loving these polishes so much! Monumental is my nude of choice from the line, it is slightly less peach and a true beige creamy nude. I also have Solar Power, Centigrade, Thrilling, Outrageous, Love Chemistry. I actually really really like the system - the cleanser works really well to prevent chips for me, and the base coat is a really good sticky base coat. The top coat rivals Seche Vite and wins for me, because it doesn't cause shrinkage like SV does on my short nails.

  3. I love this! Loving nudes at the moment as well, so funny that it works better without a topcoat :)

  4. Oh wow with its peachy undertones it looks like the perfect nude for spring! I don't know if this shade will suit my skin tone but I really should try some of this range (especially since there are about 3 sephora's close to my house).
