Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet- 10, 11, 12

 

This time last year, I blogged about my love for the Bourjois Rouge Velvet Lipsticks and still using them now and loving them just as much as I did on launch, it would come as no surprise that I was absolutely thrilled when I heard Bourjois were launching some new shades, ready for Spring.

In three new shades, 10 Don't Pink Of It, 11 So Hap'Pink and 12 Beau Brun are all an absolute pleasure to add to my collection and I can't get enough of the lipstick meets lacquer formula.

With the same lightweight formula that the Rouge Edition Velvet lipsticks carried in the previous shades, for products with a matte finish, these sit on the lips really comfortably and don't feel too drying in the slightest. 

There's something that I have noticed is slightly different to the three new additions and that's that there seems to be a slight product'y scent/taste to them. I'm not completely sure what it is and I'm not too keen on it, but scent aside, these are still beautiful products and I'm sure I will use them just as much as I have used 01 Personne ne Rouge, 04 Peach Club and 05 Olé Flamingo in the past year. 

My favourite of the three new shades is most definitely 10 Don't Pink Of It, which again, is probably no surprise, but I do really like the other two as well and think that Beau Brun is a great transitional shade to see me through the end of these chilly months and into the beginning of Spring.

Bourjois Colourband Eyeshadow & Liner

Bourjois is by far my favourite "drugstore" brand and there's not many launches from them that don't wow me.

One of Bourjois' most recent launches is their Colourband Eyeshadow & Liner sticks, which are so up my street.

For as long as I can remember, I've opted for quick and easy eye products. It's not just a mum thing- it makes sense and the quicker and easier they apply, the better. 

2 in 1 products are usually pretty hit and miss for me as I always end up using the product for one thing as opposed to the two. I guess that isn't a completely bad thing and doesn't make much difference, but I find the whole concept normally a bit of a gimmick. In saying that, I am obsessed with these Colourbands and cannot get enough.

Six shades launched with a 2 in 1 concept, these act as both a Shadow and a Liner and super easy to apply, you can't really go wrong.

01 Noir Absrait, 02 Brun Dadaiate, 03 Beige Minimaliste, 04 Rose Fauviste, 05 Mauve Baroque and 06 Gris Graffiti each offer fantastic pigmentation for an eye crayon and teamed up together, used on their own or even alongside powders, they look great.

They apply with ease and blend out really easily making them perfect if you want an unperfected smudged out smoky eye look. As a liner, they are a little bit more difficult to use how I like to wear liner, as they're a little chunkier than a normal pencil liner would be, however, if you're into a thicker, messier line or maybe want something to run and smudge out underneath your bottom lash line, then these would be perfect.

In the images above, I've used Brun Dadaite- the most gorgeous Bronze and Rose Fauviste- a soft Pink and I really love the results. Messily applied to the eyes with no precision what so ever, these blend like a dream and give you the look of quite a thought out look with no effort or time at all. Win!

They're long lasting, full of great pigmentation and whether you want to achieve something ever so subtle or something built up and somewhat dramatic, then these are definitely worth a try.

Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Lipsticks- 01, 04, 05, 07

I've been excited about the launch of these Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet lipsticks since I first saw a sneak peek online and after attending the launch earlier this week, I can honestly say I'm so impressed.

The range consists of eight shades; 01 Personne ne Rouge*, 02 Frambourjoise, 03 Hot Pepper, 04 Peach Club*, 05 Olé Flamingo*, 06 Pink Pong, 07 Nude-ist* and 08 Grand Cru and they're all such pretty shades. 

I've been trying Personne ne Rouge, Peach Club, Olé Flamingo and Nude-ist and I'm so pleased with both the shades colour payoff as well as the matte, long lasting finish. Completely lightweight on the lips, these glide on with an incredibly creamy pigmentation and although they look glossy they dry to a gorgeous matte finish which I love. They feel really comfortable and in all honestly, are what I had hoped the L'oreal Colour Riche L'Extraordinaire and Maybelline Colour Sensational Elixirs would be.

Bourjois claim that these have a 24 hour hold, which for me personally, is a little far fetched for any product. They stick around for a fairly long while and I don't have any complaints.

Launching in mid-April, it's a shame that these aren't available to buy just yet, but when they do launch they'll be available to buy in Boots and Superdrug where they will cost £8.99 each.

Bourjois Mega Liner

I've recently got back into wearing a little bit of liner and although I can't go too overboard or winged out because of my small eyes and lack of lid, I find a fine line from the centre of my eye to the outer corner compliments my eye shape and brightens up my Blue eyes perfectly.

I've been using Bourjois Mega Liner* most days recently and although it's advertised as an extra large felt tip like applicator, I actually find it really easy to apply a perfectly minimal line due to its angled sharply shaped nib.

It's super Black and intense which I like when I'm going for a slightly more made up look and I find it perfectly brightening for my eye area. Application is super easy and it applies just like you can imagine a felt tip would, with lots of pigmentation and no drag like you might experience with a pencil for example. The formula is quite inky, in that it's quite wet, but this dries really quickly and because I don't tend to wing it out or bring it too high up, I don't personally have to worry much about it transferring before it dries. 

Bourjois products continue to impress me and if like me you're into liner at the moment, you can pick this up in Boots and Superdrug where it costs £7.49.

Bourjois New Launches

Bourjois always please me with their latest releases and the line up for 2014 is looking as exciting as past years and collections. 

With 2013 being the year of the BB cream, Bourjois have launched their sister CC Cream in the 123 Perfect range in the form of a colour corrector and an illuminating concealer.

Having only used each of the products once or twice, it's impossible for me to give a full review, but on first impressions, I'm really quite impressed.

The CC Cream Foundation* (£9.99) offers three colour correcting pigments; Apricot for an anti-fatigue, awakening look, Green to erase any Redness and White to erase the look of any dark spots. Whilst colour correcting, it also works to hydrate the skin with an oil-free texture that also contains an SPF15 which is fantastic. It sits naturally on the skin and provides a fresh faced look that I'm currently loving.

The CC Eye Cream Concealer* (£7.99) also offers SPF15, which is great for day time use and brightens the under eye area perfectly which is something I'm personally really enjoying in my make up at the moment. My applicator is split which is a bit of a pain, but worked from my hand with a brush, the results are really lovely.

As well as the CC products in the 123 Perfect range, Bourjois have introduced three new eye products to their counters; Beauty'Full Volume Dark Khol Mascara, Mega Liner and Liner Feutre make up the three new eye products and so far I'm really enjoying using them. 

The Beauty'Full Volume Dark Khol Mascara* (£7.99) has an hourglass shaped brush unlike any I've seen before, offering full volume and an intense Black look to the lashes. I was a little confused at how to use it to its best potential at first but I think I'm getting used to it now and I'm really enjoying it.

Mega Liner* (£7.49) is a felt tip liner that offers a really easy application via its angled felt tip applicator. I don't tend to go too heavy or thick on the eye, but it helps me to achieve a fine line really easily with a long lasting finish.

Liner Feutre* (£6.99) comes in two shades; Noir Violine- a Purple tone and Noir Moka- a Brown tone. I've been using Noir Moka and so far so good. Again, it's a felt tip liner, though this time with a pointy tip as opposed to the Mega Liners angled tip. This makes it perfect to achieve a really fine line and flick and personally loving to using Brown as opposed to a Black this makes it a winner in my opinion.

Bourjois 24H Colour Edition Cream to Powder Eyeshadows

I've held off blogging about these for a while because on release there was an insane amount of blog posts featuring them, but over the last few weeks in particular, I have been using these Bourjois 24h Colour Edition Cream to Powder Eyeshadows* more than I ever expected that I would and so I thought it was about time that I gave my two cents.

01 Or Désir, 03 Pétale de Glace and 05 Prune Nocturne (or so I think they are called as there seems to be a little confusion online) are just three of the six shades in the range and are cream to powder finish shadows that apply with incredible ease and a nice pigmentation for building up your look. I find the easiest way to apply these is actually with my finger rather than a brush of any kind as they apply so easily and trouble free, and the warmth of the finger definitely helps to blend them that little bit more.

They have a metallic shimmer finish which I've actually really been enjoying wearing these past few months and they last a fair while on the lid, although I'm not too sure that the 24 hour expectation is realistic for me personally.

I've had most wear out of Prune Nocturne- a deep Purple with a Maroon tone which is perfect for Autumn, although as pictured above, I really like how Or Désir and Prune Nocturne look together.

I've really enjoyed using these three Bourjois 24h Colour Edition Cream to Powder Eyeshadows and priced at £6.99, I think Bourjois have created yet another lovely range of products.

Bourjois Java Rice Powder

It's no secret that I have become one of Bourjois biggest fans this year, continuing to launch fantastic products that all carry fabulous quality for the super reasonable price tags that they hold, it's hard not to be impressed with them and I've grown very fond of the drug store brand.

Re-launched just last month was Bourjois Poudre de Riz de Java Loose Powder* and honestly, I'm not sure why it's taken me so long to share my thoughts on this fantastic radiant boosting powder.

First launched back in the late nineteenth century, it was an international success and with Bourjois celebrating their 150th anniversary this year, they have re-released it using todays technology with all its scented, fine and pearly Pink glory.

Far from the girl that used to despise anything that even resembled a slight shimmer, I've recently been loving anything with a subtle amount of sparkle to input back in some radiance to my normally, quite matte look. This very finely milled powder carries a soft shimmer that once on the skin, although it looks pearly Pink, sits translucent, looking really natural and glowing. If I'm being completely honest, I'm not too keen on the scent of the powder, as I find it quite strong, but with the pretty radiance it puts back onto my skin, I can get past that easily.

Versatile enough to be used both on its own and to set your make up, this loose powder is perfect at adding an overall radiance to the face. I like to use a duo fibre brush to sweep it over my forehead, down my nose and over my cheeks, just to put a little bit of a glow into my base.

Bourjois Colour Boosts- Orange Punch & Peach on the Beach

Bourjois are continuously impressing me and I would go as far as to say they have been one of my favourite brands this year and over the past couple of months now I have been absolutely obsessed with two shades from their new Colour Boost range. 

Orange Punch* and Peach On The Beach* are two of the four shades in the current Colour Boost range (I've heard theres some Autumn shades on the horizon) and I honestly can't get enough of them. Its taken me a while to get a blog post put together because I've been struggling to get the right lighting to show of the true shades, and finally I have managed to. Insanely pigmented and creamy, Bourjois Colour Boosts offer the lips incredible hydration like a balm and feel really lovely and fresh on the lips for hours. They come in the crayon like form that we are seeing so many of, but these are hands down my favourites, especially when it comes to shades. 

Offering SPF15 and claiming to last up to ten hours, Bourjois have put together a really lovely formula that is so easily applied and looks lovely and glossy on the lips. 

Peach On The Beach 03 is probably my favourite of the two and is a bright Pink Peach shade and perfect for Summer days. Orange Punch 04 is equally as beautiful and is similar in terms of brightness, but offers a true Orange tone. Both can be applied quite light and dabbed out to a more subtle shade, or built up to quite a heavy intensity too, which I personally like.

My only problem that I have had, is that Peach On The Beach melted a fair bit when it was left out in the sun at a festival, so I would just recommend that you do keep these out of direct sunlight if you're taking them on holiday this Summer.

I'm such a huge fan of these two Bourjois Colour Boosts and definitely will be investing in the other two in the range; Red Sunrise and Fuschia Libra.
