Headmasters Colour Sale

I've been contemplating a little change with my hair for a little while now and on Tuesday I was kindly invited down to Headmasters in Mayfair for a Cut and Colour to celebrate their Colour Sale which begins on the 24th February.

I had my hair done by Headmasters very lovely Colour Director, Siobhan Jones, who was super understanding of the look I wanted. I wanted to lighten my hair similar to how it would naturally lighten in the sun, so Siobhan stripped some of the existing colour and then worked through my hair with some bleach throughout the front and random mid-lengths and ends, which is where the sun would naturally hit. After taking my hair a couple of shades lighter and popping on a Toner, my hair is exactly how I wished for it to be. In terms of the cut, I had a few inches taken off the length and then had it cut into, with a few choppy layers for some texture. I'm so pleased with my hairs new look and think the shape of the cut suits the colour absolutely perfectly.

If you fancied treating yourself to a new look or if you just need a little refresh of colour, Headmasters 50% Colour Sale starts on the 24th February and will be running until 16th March 2013.
Headmasters have more L'Oreal Colour Experts than any other group and to find your nearest salon, visit www.headmasters.com.

Do you like my new hair style? Will you be popping along to a Headmasters salon for a hair treat?

Garnier Olia Permanent Hair Colour- Golden Light Brown. Part two

Two days ago, I posted about the Garnier Olia hair dye in Light Golden Brown. My 48 hour skin test went absolutely perfectly, I didn't have any reaction what so ever so I went along with the application of the hair dye.

My hair colour isn't completely different after using this, though it is definitely lighter which is what I wanted. I don't think I have ever achieved that using a hair dye that's not bleach.
The product itself is such a pleasure to use. The formula is the first to be made with oils and with it being concentrated in Flower oils, on application it is so much nicer to use than others that I have used in the past. It applies into the hair really easily and doesn't have a harsh scent in the slightest, in fact it's pretty good and fresh! Sometimes when I colour my hair, I feel slight tingling on my scalp which probably isn't great, but with this I didn't feel any uncomfortable sensations. I think it's because it is Amonia free, which is a great factor in this product.

I left this on my hair in-between the two recommended times (one for full head and one for touch up) as I was a little concerned that if I left it on for the maximum of 30 minutes, the Golden tones would react too much with the Red tones I had previously and it turned out really well.

The packaging is all really simple and easy to use, especially the bottle you add the mixture to and apply to the hair from which works really well. I didn't end up getting it every where like I usually do which is a huge bonus. Whilst I'm on the subject of not getting it everywhere, something I really loved about this product is that I didn't end up with a stained head/ears. I just wiped the product away that made it onto my forehead and it was gone, which is dreamy as usually when I'm using an at home kit I end up a total mess for days!

I filmed the process of mixing, applying and rinsing the product as well as the results, if you're interested in seeing that above.

With 21 shades to choose from, if you're on the market for a permanent hair colour, I really do recommend this one.

Garnier Olia Permanent Hair Colour- Golden Light Brown. Part one

I have mentioned a few times recently that I have been getting bored with my hair and quite wanted to colour it a little lighter. I was given the opportunity to try Garniers new permanent hair colourant- Garnier Olia* and after reading into the product and the innovative technology that is behind the product, I jumped at the chance.

Garnier Olia is a permanent hair colour that is available in 21 different shades ranging from shiny Blacks, intense Reds, Violets, Browns and Blondes. The product uses a patent protected, amonia free formula that is concentrated in oil, making it the first oil powered hair dye ever. Garnier claim that is has maximum colour performance with 100% Grey coverage whilst improving the visible quality of hair and scalp comfort which where hair dyes are concerned, sounds like a dream to me.

I have wanted to go lighter whilst also keeping a warmer tone so I chose to try the Golden Light Brown shade which is a 6.3 in the hair colour chart. I'm hoping that it will lighten up my hair slightly but create a shiner, natural and golden eye catching shade.

Like with any hair dye, it's important to do a skin test to make sure it's safe for you to use, so I will be carrying out my 48 hour skin test today and I will be sure to let you know how I get on with this product in a couple of days time.

More information about Garnier Olia and the full range of shades can be found on the Garnier Olia site here.

What do you think of this shade?
