Lisa Shepherd Express Colour Bar

A couple of weeks ago, Corrie and I decided that whilst we were in London attending a few events, we would see what all the fuss was about and treat ourselves to a glossy new hair colour at the Lisa Shepherd Express Colour Bar.

If you're not familiar with the Express Colour Bar concept, it's a concept that I can't believe has only just come about and is all about giving you a fast and effective colour treatment without the typical salon treatment price. Offering six different treatments from the bar menu ranging from £15-£30, the team are there to work their magic on your hair, giving you the Glossy Locks, the Catwalk Colour or the Brighter Lights that you want, with the simple twist, that once your hair is coloured, you blow dry/style it yourself. 

After an initial quick consultation with Jason, I decided to go for the Glossy Locks which would cost £20 and opted to go a couple of tones darker than my previous hair tone with a Redken Shades EQ Colour Gloss. After a short while of being coloured in the incredibly comfortable massage chair, I was lead back over to the fabulously designed Colour Bar to enjoy a quick drink and play on the iPad, before being whisked over to the chair again to rinse the gloss with the most amazing of products. Though the service aims to be pretty quick, there was no rushed feeling about it, which to be honest I initially thought there would be due to the added promise of if your treatment isn't finished within the one hour slot, then you get your money back- a pretty big, though promising statement for a salon service.

I personally opted out of the professional blow dry upgrade to experience the concept as a whole, so following the colour, I was pretty much left to my own devices at the Blow Dry Bar with a range of different products, a Tangle Teezer and of course a hair dryer to use. For health and safety reasons, they do suggest that you bring your own brushes to your appointment, which wasn't a problem in the slightest for me and to be honest I quite liked that, but if you do happen to pop in without an appointment, then they have a great range to purchase. Nearing the end of my treatment, again, I wasn't rushed by any means, so took my sweet time to achieve as bouncy a hair do as was possible and was left feeling really at ease in the salon environment.

With no appointment necessary and the promise of all services being completed within the hour or your money back, I really don't think there's any disadvantages to this service. I loved the treatment I received and although I'm admittedly a little rubbish at blow drying my own hair, I left with the truly glossy locks that I went in for and most definitely keen to go back soon, I highly recommend it.
