Laura Mercier Signature Colour Essentials- Custom Palette

Vintage Pink,  Morning Dew, Primrose, Topaz and Kir Royal

On Christmas day, I was one of those girls that whilst tucked up on the sofa watching festive films and eating tons of goodies, I was also rushing my way through the online sales in search for bargains and having heard so much about how good Space NK sales are, it was of course my first stop.

I was so pleased when I managed to get my hands on a Laura Mercier Signature Colour Essentials set for Face, Eyes and Lips which included this custom palette, two Classic Eyeshadow Duets, a Second Skin Cheek Colour, a deluxe travel size Foundation Primer, a full size Caviar Stick Eye Colour in Twilight, a travel size Full Blown Volume Lash Building Mascara, a full size Lip Glace in Sweetheart and a travel sized All Over Colour brush for the incredible price of £12.50. It was 50% off it's original price, which for the amount it includes was great to begin with.  

I'm so pleased with the whole set but thought I would share the palette with you, which is what initially grabbed my attention.

It's a mirrored custom palette, which I wasn't aware of when I ordered but is such a bonus. It means that in time, I will probably pop out the eye products and in place build a custom blush palette that will most definitely home my favourite Laura Mercier blush, Peach Whisper.

I'm a huge fan of the Second Skin Cheek Colours and my favourite is Peach Whisper, but this exclusive shade Vintage Pink is a great addition to my collection. It's a beautiful Pink shade and although in the pan it looks a little more muted than I thought it would, on the skin it's a lot brighter and definitely falls perfectly into my Coral Pink collection.  

As I mentioned recently, eyeshadows are growing on me and I think these four shades are great to introduce into my small but growing eye collection. Morning Dew, Primrose and Topaz are definitely my favourites which probably isn't a surprise as they are easier on the eye and the more wearable shades, but Kir Royal, though maybe not the easiest for me to wear is a beautiful deep Plum shade that I think would be so complimentary on darker or Green eyes. They are all extremely pigmented and velvety on the skin and for the price I paid for this set, I am absolutely thrilled. 

Individually, Laura Mercier Eye Colour Duets cost £18.50 and Second Skin Cheek Colours cost £20.50.

Urban Decay Vice Palette

Urban Decay are extremely well known for their super pigmented eye shadows and beautifully put together palettes and have recently launched a new palette for Autumn Winter- The Vice Palette*.

This rubber like finished, jewel embellished palette has a smooth button opening function and homes twenty 0.8g shades that are brand new to Urban Decay and have been designed specifically for this palette, as well as a palette sized mirror and a really nice double ended Good Karma Shadow and Crease Brush.

The shades included are a very varied range of finishes including metallics, satins and mattes and come in colours from all across the spectrum. From muted shades to bright shades and fine glitters this palette has it all. I'm definitely very much a matte girl and I particularly love Laced although Nevermind, Penny Lane and Echo Beach are probably my favourite shades in amongst this selection. 

They are all super pigmented and the above swatches are from ever such the slightest touch which is really impressive.

I really like this palette and I think the shades will make for the perfect eye look throughout Winter time.

Clarins Odyssey Face Palette

Just when you thought you couldn't get better than the beautiful Odyssey Eye Palette that I blogged about here right? 

This Clarins Face Palatte* falls in the same Odyssey limited edition collection as is just as, if not more amazing. 

It's a stunning radiance powder that contains a Beige Bronze base with delicate Gold overspray detailing, suitable to add a beautiful highlight or glow to any skin tone. 

This weighty Gold compact is so beautifully designed and has the most delicate little touches to it. I'm not usually a fan of any shimmer in my powders, but the slightest bit of Gold you end up with in this works delightfully and helps to add the perfect touch to my make up.

It is a shame though it is for a reason, that on the first touch of brush to palette the Gold over spray dusts off over the rest of the palette. It definitely takes something away from the overall appearance of the detailing, though in exchange adding that little something to how your make up looks, with a very subtle glow that works to enhance your complexion. 

Clarins describe this product as having a "light optimising complex" that works on the skin, reducing the appearance of wrinkles and imperfections to leave your skin looking even and radiant. 

Applied all over, this definitely helps to even out the skin tone though I take advantage of the radiance that this gives and apply it like a highlight, as although not too much shimmer comes off with this there is still a fair bit. I sweep it over the top of my cheek bones and use the excess product on the bridge of my nose and cupids bow. 

This face palette retails for £35, which I do think is a little more expensive but it is an absolutely stunning product and feels extremely luxurious.

Clarins Odyssey Eye Quartet Mineral Palette

I'm not one to really drool over an eyeshadow let alone an eyeshadow palette. 

I don't always venture out into eye make up any more than mascara and if I do, I normally stick to super safe colours. 

Eyeshadows have never been my go-to products on a make up counter, I'm definitely more of a base and lipstick girl but the way I feel about this product means there is something very special about it.

 The Clarins Odyssey Eye Quartet Mineral Palette* is honestly, currently my favourite thing in my make up collection. It is the most beautiful thing and I am so quick to show it off to everyone, I mean look at it!

It's made up of four shades and two applicators. Now the applicators are extremely pretty, as is the rest of the palette but to be honest I probably won't get much use out of them. The eyeshadows on the other hand, well. 

They can be used both wet and dry and though I haven't tried it wet yet, I imagine that Gold leaf highlight beauty will apply to the eye like a dream, just as it already does dry. A little touch of that in the inner corner, placed somewhere within your smoky eye or even applied like an eyeliner is simply stunning. I've never felt such a soft, creamy, glittery bit of goodness like it. The other shades, are more "normal" and are a gorgeous mix of Brown, Bronze and Taupe and work both together or alone to create a beautiful look. 

The packaging of this quad is probably what makes this product that little bit more special. It's a Gold, shiny, delicate, classy handful of make up and in or out of the little Red pouch it is a dream to have in your make up bag.

This Clarins palette is apart of the limited edition Christmas Odyssey Collection and is available now for £30, which is quite pricey but if you're into eyeshadow or if you're a sucker for lovely packaging as I am, then I highly recommend this.

Sleek Blush by 3 Lace

Top to bottom- Crochet, Guipure, Chantilly 

I mentioned a couple of weeks ago in this post that I really wanted to get the Sleek Blush by 3 palette in Lace, and after searching far and wide I finally managed to get my hold on a couple of them for me and a friend.

I know I'm not the only one that has had great difficulty in trying to get this, every Superdrug I have visited has all of the other shades but none of Lace, which I know has been the same case for so many of you.

I thought I'd get a quick swatch up of the shades, so that you can decide whether or not you really need it before searching for it like a crazy woman like myself.

I said before that I would have preferred them all to be matte, but in actual fact the Shimmer shade Guipure is absolutely lovely. It has gold tones to it, and used quite lightly which is rather necessary with these super pigmented blushes, is a really lovely shade and not in the slightest bit over the top which I often find with shimmer blushes. 

It sits on my more bronzed make up really nicely and adds a little something special.

When Sleek describe these as intensely pigmented, they really weren't lying. They really are super pigmented but can be blended out to a really nice colour. 

I think for £9.99 this is a really nice palette, and is definitely worth searching or least keeping a little eye out for.

FashionistA Eyeshadows

Hey sweets,

A couple of weeks ago I attended BINTM Live and was lucky enough to get a couple of Fashionista Eyeshadows in my bag of goodies.

I'm not new to Fashionista as I went to the launch a while back but I know some of you have been very interested in getting your hands on it- Fashionista is available from Superdrug and is most definitely worth a look.

The shades I got were Shade 23 in Chocolate Dream and Shade 39 in Bronze. 

I'm not really into metallics or anything that shimmers too much and as always- would prefer these if they was matte however, regardless of the shimmer factor these are both really nice shades and make very pleasant additions to my collection.

 They are in fact a lot more pigmented than they are actually showing up on my camera (poor lighting I'm afraid!)
