Chantecaille Cheek Shade- Delight

Whilst visiting one of my favourite stores, Liberty, I had my inevitable look around the beauty counters and without any exaggeration, knew I had to get this Chantecaille Blush as soon as I saw it. 

I think the lady on the counter wanted me to buy a blush from another collection, but I was so adamant that this was the one I wanted. It looked to be apart of the colour family I always go for, and feel most comfortable with on my cheeks. 

It's called Delight and it is matte Rosy Peach Pink shade, that I must admit looked a lot more on the Peach spectrum in store and when I got home and tried it with my make up, though it is lovely, I was a little disappointed. Other than the shade, the thing that sold me most of this product was how soft and delicate it feels on the skin. It's made up of micro particle technology that produces an extremely light and fine powder that feels so soft when both swatched and on the skin. Another selling point of this product I have found out when researching into it further, is that it also includes Vitamins A, C and E which somehow help with anti-aging. I'm not so sure on how a blush would do this, but it certainly sounds good.

The colour pay off is very strong. It's really super pigmented and although it does blend out pretty easily, you do have to be quite light with it at risk of looking too flushed and Pink cheeked (or clown like!).

The downside of this product is that at £24, there is only 2.5g of product. It's pretty packaging with a mixture of a shine and frosted finish, but I do think that for such a tiny blush it is quite expensive and I'm not sure if it's really worth it. I do like it and the shade is nice, but I don't love it. I have noticed that I don't reach for it as much as I do other blushes, which with me says a lot.

Liz Earle Healthy Glow Powder Blush- Nectar

 Yes..another blush, but this time a blush in a pretty Pink shade rather than a Peach or a Coral.

It's Liz Earles powder blush in Nectar* and it's a little Rosy dream.

It's described as an Vibrant Rose Pink shade, and that it is. The vibrancy came as a shock to me as after having a look online beforehand, it looked slightly more muted and more of a darker shade. That's not necessarily a bad thing but if you are looking to buy any of the products, I would suggest looking online for photos or swatching at counters first.

I personally find that shades of blush on more of the Peach spectrum suit my colouring and base shades more than Pink do and so when I use this, I do have to be very subtle and light-handed with it to avoid looking Noddy like. I blend it into an almost barely there shade, but it completes my make up with a tiny little flush of colour which is nice.

Like the Cream blush in Nude that I blogged about here, this is also super pigmented. I'm really impressed with the Liz Earle make up that I've tried and swatched in stores, when they first launched them I must admit I was a little unsure whether they would work or whether they would just be a nice little expansion for the brand but I really am pleased. The colours are nicely pigmented and long-wearing which is fab.

This comes in a Liz Earle branded mirrored compact in a slightly bigger size of 6g compared to the Cream blush which is 2g, though for the same price of £16.50. The Colour collection is is available at counters and online here.

Topshop Head Over Heels

I was shopping in John Lewis the other day and happened to bump into the Topshop Make Up stand. I was after the lipstick Charmed that I had passed up getting a couple of days previous but ended up with this little beaut- Head Over Heels.

Although I'm happy to use Cream blushes, they're not my favourite but when I laid eyes on this shade the formulation didn't even come into consideration. I just had to have it.

Again, Head Over Heels is a Coral blush and although it is absolutely beautiful, in the pan it comes across quite bright and seems more Pink than it in actual fact is.
It does have Pinky undertones which seems to be becoming a theme with my Coral blush collection but I love it.

It's a cream formula but once applied it seems to dry like any powder blush would, which is great for me because like I touched on before, I'm not really a huge fan of cream blushes.
I went a little overboard with this product at first and looked a slightly too flushed and Pink cheeked but this wasn't too much of a problem as it does blend out really well and after I did blend it a little, it muted the bright Pink and sat perfectly as a very subtle shade.
With the standard amount applied, it is pretty subtle and I don't think the colour in the pan really represents it greatly.  Either way it's a gorgeous colour and for £6 it's well and truly worth it.

Topshop Make Up really is fabulous, I really must start giving it a little more attention as I seem to have missed out on so many great products.

Nars Gilda

I was recently in Liberty with my boyfriend doing a little post birthday shopping and of course, ended up at the Nars counter for a substantial amount of time. I'm not really a fan of spending time at make up counters as in the past I haven't had the best experience, however in Liberty the staff couldn't be any more helpful and genuinely friendly.

I got talking to the lady and she instantly knew what kind of products I would be after, I'm guessing from the make up I was wearing that day, but she led me to all of the products I had previously had my eye on. Gilda being one of them. 

After trying lots of things and having a mega swatching session, I decided that this was the next blush to be apart of my collection and my boyfriend very kindly treated me to it!

To begin with, I couldn't decide between this and Gina but because Gina is slightly more similar to everything I already have, I opted for this which of course, is still a Coral Blush but it has the slightest Red tone to it, rather than my normal Peachy Corals.

I stayed clear of the shimmer products (surprise!) and this is very much a true matte product, although I did have to double check with the sales assistant as at the counter there was a bit of shimmer in the pan from another product which had me a little concerned.

I'm really such a fan of this product, it's such a lovely colour and adds a beautiful finish to my make up. I never really used to be a blush girl, but now my make up isn't complete until a brush of coral on my cheeks. 

I really like Nars products and the packaging is by far my favourite of all brands. It's a little more expensive, costing £21 but in my opinion is a quality product, a fair size and blushes seem to last forever anyway, which justifies it a little more!

Benefit Hervana- Good Karma!

Benefits Hervana was another of the items that Feel Unique were kind enough to send me to review.

I have had my eye on it since seeing blog posts on the product launch event, and am very happy that it's now become apart of my make up collection.

I really do like Benefit as a brand, and I think the majority of there products are beautiful.

The packaging is delightful and is definitely to my taste.

I've always been a fan of the boxed powder products and used Coralista and Hoola until hitting pan was well and truly an understatement!

Benefit Hervana is the latest in the boxed powder family, and it is a Peachy Pink dream.

Lucky Shell, Divine Peach, Heavenly Rose & Berry Delight have been swirled together to provide you with four complimentary shades to brighten up your face.

 Swirled together the four shades make Hervana- how Benefit describe as an Orchid Blossom shade blush.

This product is supposed to be used as one shade, however, you can choose to just use two or three of the shades if you'd prefer for a different look. I used Lucky Shell underneath my brow and it worked a treat!

"What goes around comes around"

When I first received this product, I was a little concerned that the darkest and lightest shade might work together and make the product a cooler shade rather than warmer. I much prefer a warmer shade on my face and fortunately, this does create a warmer tone to my face and the Peach and Pinks tones of the pan definitely outweigh the Berry.

One thing I am really pleased about, is that Benefit have now introduced a mirror to the box. This is something I have always moaned about when purchasing Benefit products in the past, so I'm very happy indeed. It just makes it so much easier when your on the go.

I never really use the brushes in the Benefit boxes, but they can come in handy and this one in particular is a lot nicer with a slanted finish which is more practical for a more accurate application on the cheeks.

New CID Cosmetics i-glow Ice Pop

I got this in my gift bag a while back when I attended the New CID Cosmetics event in London and when I noticed it sparkling through at the bottom of my bag I was very pleased indeed.

I have been a fan of the i-glow in Coral Crush for about a year now, and you may have noticed its forever popping up in my 'What I'm wearing' posts. It's definitely a product I reach for when my face needs brightening up.

I'm slightly disappointed in the fact that this shade isn't something I'm reaching for all the time. I think its okay, but it definitely isn't a product that I am loving. 

It's a marbelised baked shimmer powder with different tones of Pink and Lilac and White running through it, which definitely sounds like something I would go for (minus the shimmer), but it just doesn't work for me.

I know I don't like shimmer anyway, but with the i-glow in Coral Crush working so well for me, I thought this would too.

The Pinks and Lilacs do look lovely together in the pan, but on my face they just don't sit well, they look quite bland on me. The shimmer kind of throws it a little bit and makes its all slightly too much for me. Rather than brightening up my face a couple of times I have felt its ruined my make up.

As much as I didn't really like this in real life I do think it pictured quite well. 

This product is a definite proof that different products work differently on different people. I really think that with the Lilacs and Pinks, this would work beautifully on a paler skin tone than mine.As you are probably aware I am very often tanned, and although this product is meant to be "great for accentuating a tan", I don't personally think it compliments mine. 

This product can be used as both a highlighter and a blush but I always tend to use these products as more of a blush.

Maybe it's something that will work well with my tan sweeped on my shoulders and neck when I go out somewhere fancy, but for now it isn't working on my cheeks.

I am still however a huge fan of Coral Crush and think I'll be quite a fan of that for a long time.
