Nicki Minaj Pink Friday Special Edition

Back in February I attended a launch for the Nicki Minaj Pink Friday launch and posted about the fragrance which since, I have continued to enjoy wearing. It's a beautifully sweet, fruity scent and although I'm still not keen on the pretty hefty bottle, transferred into an atomiser, I have found it the perfect fragrance and a go-to for me thus far.

Following the high success surrounding the original Pink Friday Nicki Minaj fragrance, Nicki wanted to create a special edition, so used her fascination with changing her look to create another unique collectible bottle with a little bit of extra playfulness to the original scent.

Top Notes- The fragrance opens with a burst of succulent Grapefruit, juicy Apple and White Raspberry.
Heart- The heart leaps and blossoms as hints of water lily and honeysuckle dance with a whisper of star jasmine petals.
Base- The rich creaminess of caramelised Pear and sheer musk in the dry down radiate with sensual femininity.

Though very much along the same lines as the original fragrance, I would say this definitely has a slighter more floral note to it, though the sweetness definitely makes it's way through.

Very pleasant and in a what I think is a much more of simple and nicer bottle; this frosted glass, White wig mini Nicki costs £24 for a 30ml Eau de Toilette and is available to buy in The Perfume Shop.

What do you think of this special edition? Are you a fan of the original? I would love to know your thoughts.

Nude by Rihanna

I feel like this year, I've really become accustomed to trying new fragrances and have branched out from my what some may call, a stuck in a rut perfume collection. Whilst trying a fair few new fragrances, celebrity ones have popped up a few times and although I have always been quick to say I'm not too much of a celebrity fragrance girl, I think over the past couple of years they have really upped their game and in terms of scent, are on par with so many premium fragrances that I have tried.

My latest celebrity fragrance to make it's way into my collection is Nude by Rihanna, the third fragrance from the, in my opinion, very fabulous multi-platinum artist. Following her two best selling past fragrances, Rihanna wanted to create something a little more subtle and something that created a little more of a stripped down essence.

With top notes containing Guava Nectar, Mandarin and Pear with a centre of Orange Blossom, Gardenia Petals and Velvet Jasmine Sambac the base follows with a richer tone, with notes of Sandalwood, Second skin Musk and Vanilla Orchid.

If I'm completely honest, it's not my favourite scent for the moment but it is very pleasant and I think it is certainly a fragrance that can be worn both day and night. Being quite subtle, I think it's possibly aimed towards a younger audience, but then I think most celebrity fragrances are.

Inspired by a stiletto heel, Rihanna wanted to create a bottle that suited her daring nature, with a feminine edge so chose to keep the packaging pretty simple with more edgy finishing touches like the twisted matte ribbon layer effect. The shape of the bottle makes it more of a dressing table bottle, but if you wanted to top up throughout the day, you could always pop some into a Travalo Atomiser, which is what I tend to do with most of my fragrances.

The Nude by Rihanna fragrance collection is available to buy now in Boots and The Perfume Shop as well as other leading retailers costing £37.50 Nude by Rihanna 100ml Eau de Parfum Spray/ £30 Nude by Rihanna 50ml Eau de Parfum Spray/ £20 Nude by Rihanna 30ml Eau de Parfum Spray.

What do you think of celebrity fragrances? Does Nude by Rihanna sound like it would fit into your perfume collection?

One Directions Debut Fragrance Launch- Our Moment

Last night I was extremely lucky to have been invited to a rather intimate affair in Searcys at the very top of the Gherkin in London, to the unveiling and showcasing of One Directions debut fragrance 'Our Moment'.

Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik and Niall Horan make up the extremely successful band One Direction and they were all there looking fabulous, to personally introduce us to the fragrance itself as well as hold a Q&A session.

Between the five of them, the boys told us how they like a girl to smell "fruity, fresh, sweet and subtle" and since a fan started a petition on Twitter for them to start a fragrance, they have spent the last year putting in lots of hard work into developing the perfect fragrance for them, with a blend of their favourite scents to create a vibrant and playful fruity floral fragrance to reflect the band themselves.

Harry commented "It's been a long and exciting process and we're really proud to have made a One Direction fragrance." Liam added: "We love the idea behind a fragrance as you mix individual scents to create something so much better!", Niall finished by saying "I've tested it on my family and they love it- and we can't wait to show it to our fans across the world!"

They described the scent as best as they could and whilst they couldn't list everything the fragrance holds, they told us to expect something fresh and fruity with Grapefruit, Red Berries and a Creamy Musk and they were pretty spot on.

The notes that the fragrance holds is
Top- Pink Grapefruit, Wild Berries, Redcurrants
Mid- Jasmine Petals, Fresh Freesia, Frangipani
Dry- Creamy Musk, Sheer Woods, White Patchouli

On first impressions, I must admit I thought it was quite a strong fragrance and certainly more floral than sweet, but after while the top notes of the Grapefruit, Berries and Redcurrants definitely make their way through which I personally really like and the final scent is very refreshing and sweet.

Homed in a pretty Pink and very girly ornate Glass bottle with a Mesh Pink Flower and packaged in a matching box with their very lovely faces on, it's definitely one for their fans and I can certainly see it being a number one fragrance from their fan base alone.

One Directions debut fragrance 'Our Moment' launches on the 25th August 2013 where it will be exclusive to Harrods and then will be available nationwide as of 9th September 2013 costing £21 Eau de Parfum Spray 30ml/£29 Eau de Parfum Spray 50ml/£39 Eau de Parfum 100ml with a 150ml Shower Gel and 150ml Body Lotion also available for £12/£14.

Juicy Couture Viva La Juicy Noir

Last night I attended a rather fabulous Juicy Couture party that was all in the name of celebrating Juicy Coutures latest fragrance launch- Viva La Juicy Noir*.

Held in a beautifully prestigious location, lit with very Juicy Couture Pink lighting and decorated to impeccable standards, model Amber le Bon was celebrity DJ for the event alongside Becky Tong and together they created a great atmosphere to sip cocktails, mingle amongst some fabulous people and have a few spritzes of what is honestly, an absolutely beautiful new scent.

Following Juicy Coutures very popular and fun signature look in terms of packaging, Viva La Juicy Noir is slightly more on the darker side, held in an extremely weighty Fuchsia Metallic Pink glass bottle and finished with a pretty Black satin bow. It sits in amongst the range perfectly and although I know the bottles are always pretty controversial and love or hate, there's no taking away that the scents themselves are absolutely stunning.

Viva La Juicy Noir follows Juicy Coutures sweet trend, which I personally love, and carries the most perfectly blended notes;

Bold: Wild Berries, sparkling Mandarin and succulent Mara Strawberry
Sensual: Lush Honeysuckle, Gardenia Petals and Feminine Jasmine
Arresting: Amber, Caramel and Creamy Vanilla with a hint of Sandalwood.

I absolutely love this fragrance and with the majority of the notes being perfectly sweet, it's definitely a scent that will see me through Summer.

The bottle pictured above is 100ml and again, is pretty weighty, making for the perfect bedroom fragrance. Fortunately, it is also available in two smaller bottles, which I will be most definitely be purchasing as a more travel sized option.

Juicy Couture Viva La Juicy Noir will be available nationwide in late July costing 30ml £35/50ml £47/100ml £63.

Do you like Juicy Couture fragrances? Are you excited for this addictive sweet scented addition?
