Last month I took part in a Get The Look challenge which I posted about here and had so many compliments on the lipstick which I was wearing. It was in actual fact Rouge Jet Set* from Bourjois new collection; The Rouge Edition and been a go-to Red lipstick for me since.

 When I was given the opportunity to try some other shades from The Rouge Edition, I was absolutely thrilled as the pigmentation and creamy, easy to apply formula are excellent.

The range consists of three colour families; Preppy (01-06) which is made up of six fresh Nude shades for a more natural subtle look, Colour Block (07-12) which is made up of six bright Pinks and Oranges for a more eye catching and daring look and Night Out (13-18) which is made up of six shades ranging from 13, which I wore in my video here and is a classic Red, to much darker intense tones and Plum shades. 

The Rouge Edition collection has 18 shades in total and with the variations of tones that run throughout it, has a range of shades to suit all skin tones and tastes. 

I'm really impressed with the colours that Bourjois have to offer and think for the price of £7.99 that these lipsticks cost, they are pretty reasonable and if you wanted to expand your lipstick collection, then a Bourjois counter is the perfect point of call.

These lipsticks are currently exclusive to Selfridges although they will be available nationwide as of February.

Clarins Rouge Eclat Age-Defying Lipsticks

 

Back in October, I posted about Clarins Limited Edition Odyssey Collection which quite frankly I couldn't get enough of and once again, Clarins have well and truly outdone themselves.  

Introduced with their SS13 collection, 15 shades of Clarins new Rouge Eclat Age-Deyfying Lipsticks will become apart of Clarins main cosmetics line, which is fantastic as they are such lovely products and will be a great addition to their counters.

I was fortunate enough to get my hands on three of the subtle Nudes in the collection; 01 Nude Rose*, 02 Sweet Rose* and 03 Petal Pink* and they are everything I could dream of. 

Though they are all absolutely lovely shades, I can't decide between Nude Rose and Sweet Rose in terms of which is my favourite. Nude Rose is a perfect Nude that has a dusky Pink, almost Lilac tone it which I love. It certainly applies more Pink than the natural lip colour that it appears in the tube, but is completely wearable and so pretty. 

Sweet Rose is a perfect everyday shade, adding quite a subtle amount of Pink to the lips making it perfect for adding a quick sweep of colour that isn't too overbearing and sits quite naturally on the lips.

I think it's also a shade that would quite easily suit a varied range of skin tones. 

Unlike Nude Rose, on the lips Sweet Rose and Petal Pink are very close to the colour they appear in the tube and Petal Pink is just as it looks; a deeper Pink shade which although I do like, I don't find as easy to wear as I do with the others. 

Clarins Rouge Eclat lipsticks are a lovely formula and apply nice and smoothly to the lips, they are also really buildable which is great as you can opt for a more subtle look with less product. 

On the lips, these lipsticks feel really soft and moisturising, however, like I often find with moisturising lipsticks, the colour doesn't stick around for as long as I would like. A couple of hours after applying and a reapplication is necessary, but thankfully, they do fade nicely on the lips without any sight of cracking like a drier lipstick would, which is a bonus.

These lipsticks are supposed to have a slight Blackberry and Liquorice scent and flavour, which doesn't really appeal to me in the slightest. Thankfully, I can only smell the slightest hint of Blackberry and the taste is barely there, which personally I'm pleased about.

Along with providing great colour and moisture to the lips, the ingredients of these age-defying lipsticks contains Nutri-Youth Complex, Vitamin E and 100% Plant Waxes, which are supposed to help boost collagen and protect the lips from free radicals and dehydration.

Rococo Unisexy Matte Leather Look Nails

I've said it before and I'm the first to admit it, when it comes to nails I'm normally pretty boring and other than the odd bit of glitter that I like to treat my nails to occasionally, nail effects aren't normally for me.

I've featured matte nails before and although I think on some shades it can look a little bizarre and super unflattering, I think on the right shade it can look really nice and this Rococo Unisexy Matte* Leather look polish thoroughly impressed me.

Unisexy Matte is a Black shade that when applied looks just as any standard polish would but as it dries it begins to look matte and creates very much a leather look finish on the nail.
I quite like to wear a Black nail anyway and I think that in this case, the matte finish is really complimentary and adds a great touch.

Although I had a slightly damaged brush which made application a little more tricky than it should have been, I found this polish applied to the nail relatively easily and dried extremely quickly which always goes down well with me. I blogged about another Rococo polish last month and I really do love the formulas that they offer.

Bourjois Aristo Clash Collection

Over the past few months, I have been introduced to some really nice products from Bourjois, some of which have become staples in my make up bag. Two new favourites of mine are Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation* and the Bourjois Queen Attitude Khol Kajal* which have both featured in a previous blog post. I find some of the products extremely good quality for the drug store price points they come with and with being so accessible, if you're into make up you really can't go wrong.

Next month, Bourjois will be introducing a new collection into their main line; The Aristo Clash Collection, which is made up of some new Purple toned treats. 

My stand out favourites of the four products are most definitely the nail polishes, which I have raved above previously to now. I really like the formulas of Bourjois nail varnishes and find the fast drying formula absolutely perfect. They create quite a thick opaque finish on the nail which is a shiny dream and the size of the brush makes application so quick and accurate.

Out of the two, I certainly prefer the Grey toned Purple, Fashion Gris-Gris* and although the deep toned Purple Fiction* isn't really the type of shade I normally go for, I've very much been enjoying wearing it for the past couple of days. 

If you're into eye make up, then you will be pleased to know that Bourjois have also introduced two new shades into their main lines; the Intense Little Round Pot Gris Voilacé No11* which is a Grey Purple eyeshadow with a quite a heavy glitter running throughout it, as well as a new Contour Clubbing Waterproof shade, Purple Night No47*, which is such a lovely soft eyeliner that applies so effortlessly and leaves a deep Purple colour with a subtle shimmer. 

After giving the Bourjois stands a little more well deserved attention recently, I'm really keen to try some of their blushes. Do you have a favourite Bourjois product? I would love your recommendations.

Sisley Phyto Nude Lip Gloss

 For a girl that's not so into lip glosses, this Sisley Phyto Lip Gloss in Nude* has well and truly won me over and featured in my day to evening make up quite regularly over the past month.

It's one of my favourite kind of shades and is a beautiful true Beige Nude. Worn on it's own, like swatched above, or on top of a lipstick it really is lovely and I find it so complimentary and not at all overbearing like I often find with other glosses.

It's the perfect formula for a lip gloss as it's not too sticky and it feels quite light on the lips making it easy maintenance with no real need for much attention.  

Application is nice, although I would maybe prefer it to have a doe foot applicator rather than a brush, as a couple of times I have experienced brush lines after application, which although they disappear with the slightest pout of the lips, is the only real thing I would change.

As I mentioned, this lip gloss does feel pretty light on the lips and I find it leaves them feeling super soft and moisturised even when the gloss has worn off and needs a reapplication.

Yves Saint Laurent Touche Éclat Collectors Radiant Touch

Yves Saint Laurent Touche Éclat is a product that I have always been a little unsure of. Working for an airline and it always being a popular product upon the duty free cart, I have sold it to so many ladies who have always been extremely excited about it, but I personally have never really been sold on this pen like cosmetic. I can't quite put my finger on why, as it really is so heavily raved about it for it's corrective and highlighting qualities that normally would be right up my street.

I think I maybe saw it as quite a lot of money for the amount of product you get and so recently when I had the opportunity to shop with a little bit of discount, I thought I would give it a go and pick up the Collectors edition, just because.

The product normally comes in a sleek mirrored Gold tube rather than this sparkly edition and comes in seven shades. Strangely with this Limited Edition Touche Éclat, I was only able to get it in one shade, No 1 Rose Lumiere- The Original Highlighter, which to be honest I find a little too Pink toned for me.

It's supposed to work to give your face and make up instant light, luminosity and radiance and in turn, help to banish areas of darkness. I find it does help to lighten my dark circles of a morning quite nicely and maybe the Pink tones help with that, but honestly, that's all I find it does for me and I don't think the price is justified for 2.5ml of product.

It's supposedly one of the United Kingdoms best-selling make up products and is seen as a handbag essential by so many, but unfortunately, as convenient as the pen, button click and brush is, I can't help but feel I would have been better off with a better value highlighter and concealer.

As the self confessed make up obsessed girl that I am, I do like to have this in my collection and really hope I grow to like it, maybe I'm using it wrong? I would love to know how you use this product and whether it's an essential for you.
