Aerin Lipgloss in Shell

Lipgloss has become somewhat a thing for me recently and I have found myself reaching for them more than ever. Something about the glossed look has completely got me and lipgloss applied both alone or on top of a lipstick has become something I currently find myself wearing daily.

My lipgloss of the moment is currently Aerins Shell Lipgloss* from the Seashell Collection and quite frankly, I fell for it the moment I first laid my eyes on it. It's not very often you see as nude a lipgloss available and so I couldn't wait to swatch and it see how it played out.

Inspired by the beach and swatching as an extremely light Peach toned Beige shade, on the lips this appears pretty much barely there with just a subtle nude tint and a wearable shine finish. I can't get enough of it and find it completely wearable on it's own as well as the perfect product to add a glossed finish to so many of my Nude lipsticks.

The doe foot applicator makes for a very smooth application and with it being a super subtle, sheer shade, not much product or attention is needed at all. For a gloss, I find this extremely comfortable on the lips and don't find that it's too sticky in the slightest. The taste of the product isn't my favourite, as I find it a tiny bit perfumed but it's completely bearable and to be quite honest, with the lovely tint and lovely shine that it provides, I don't think I would stray anyway.

I'm really impressed with this Aerin Shell Lipgloss and love everything from the sleek transparent and Gold packaging to the nude pigment it offers.

Available in two nude shades (Shell and Sunset), this Aerin Lipgloss in Shell costs £22 and is available to buy as apart of the limited edition Summer Seashell Collection in John Lewis, Selfridges and Harrods.

What do you think of this Aerin lipgloss? Do you have a favourite Nude gloss?

Autograph Ultra Shine Twist-Up Lip Colour- Strawberry

Recently, especially for at work, I've found myself filling my make up bag with more and more moisturising, balmy lip colours and one of my newest additions has been the perfect shade for a perfect Red pout and comes in the form of Marks & Spencers Autograph Ultra Shine Twist-Up Lip Colour in Strawberry*.

Very similar to most of my other moisturising, balmy colours I have been using a lot of recently, this comes a crayon form offering the handy twist up function which I really like.
It's an incredibly pigmented true Red shade which gives amazing opacity on the lips with just one sweep. The colour really surprised me as I thought with being balm, glossy lipstick would be a lot more sheer and certainly not as Red as it is.

On the lips it feels incredibly light and moisturising, leaving my lips feeling super soft and comfortable. I don't find myself worrying as much as I sometimes do with Red lipsticks, as more often than not, when I check in the mirror for a potential top up moment, the colours still looking perfectly fresh. Bleeding and feathering isn't too much of a problem, although just like most Reds, the more you apply throughout the day, the more likely it is to happen. If you wanted to wear a lip pencil with it then I probably would recommend it but I personally don't, as these three in one type products are used more often that not for me, as a convenience lip product.

I'm really impressed with the formula and pigmentation of this Ultra Shine Twist-Up Lip Colour and although Marks & Spencers isn't a brand I wouldn't normally consider as a port of call for make up, I'm definitely going to have a little browse next time I'm in there stocking up on underwear and tasty snacks.

Available in eight different shades, Autograph Ultra Shine Twist-Up Lip Colours are available to buy online and in Marks & Spencers and cost £9.50 each.

Have you tried any Autograph make up? Does this Strawberry Ultra Shine Lip Colour look like something you would enjoy using?

Bobbi Brown Nude Beach Tube Tints

I've never really been one for a glossy lip and have always preferred a lipstick to a gloss, but recently I have been introduced to some really lovely shades and formulas, including these four Bobbi Brown Tube Tints* that are limited edition and were launched into the Nude Beach Collection, which I must admit had my full attention from the offset.

Four incredibly beautiful shades make up the limited edition range; Naked, Bronzed Pink, Pink Cloud and Air Kiss and all offering a soft, sheer amount of colour, perfect for Summer, I really can't get enough.

Although they don't feel completely invisible on the lips, they are comfortably light and both easy to apply and wear and I am really impressed. A quality that I really like about them, is that they don't feel too sticky or gloopy on the lips, which I must admit is probably what puts me off most glosses.

They each add a perfect gloss to the lips which I have recently been loving to finish a more natural bronzed look and when I'm wearing them, I subconsciously can't help but have a slight Summer pout.

I can't choose between Naked and Air Kiss as a favourite for day to day wear as I find that worn both alone or on top of a lipstick, they are both such complimentary shades. Pink Cloud is a perfect Pink and offers a beautiful amount of pigmentation on it's own although it could be used to intensify a Pink lipstick if you like a full of amount of colour. Bronzed Pink is probably my least favourite as it does carry a fair bit of shimmer which is quite often a no-go for me. Once worn off the lips, the shimmer does stick around a little which if I'm honest, puts me off slightly.

These Bobbi Brown Nude Beach Tube Tints are available now costing £16 each online and at Bobbi Brown counters in Debenhams, Selfridges and House of Fraser.

What do you think of these four shades? Do you prefer glosses over lipsticks?

Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfectors

Over the past couple of months, I have found myself opting for more and more glossy finishes than ever. I've never really been one for a high-shine finish, yet recently, have found it to be a really nice touch to my make up. I don't think I'm even close to banishing the matte lips all together yet, but after trying these Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfectors* and pretty much falling more for them instantly, I don't think it's unfair to say that my opinion on the the perfected gloss look has changed somewhat.

The three products pictured above; Petal Shimmer, Candy Shimmer and Rosewood Shimmer are the latest additions to the Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector range and are almost ready for launch following the huge success of the three original shades. Like I said, I am quite a newbie to a glossy lip and so hadn't actually tried the originals, but had heard raves of them very frequently from many lipstick and make up lovers like myself and after trying these three, I am now extremely keen to try Apricot Shimmer.

When it comes to lip products, I always swatch them on my lips, but I have found these little products, though ever so pretty and lovely to use, quite hard to photograph as they are pretty sheer and on my bare lips, the colour differentiation doesn't show up on camera too well. They work both on their own or on top of a lipstick to give you a soft, shiny, quite natural sheer looking, plumper lip and I absolutely love the pretty subtle tones that they carry, as well as the beautifully sweet gel formula that they're made up of. The packaging is really lovely and simple too and I find they apply with such incredible ease which is particulary great if you're on the go.

My favourite of the three is probably Petal Shimmer, which more than likely doesn't surprise you with it being the lightest. It's the perfect product for me to add on top of a Nude or Peach lipstick and I find it so complimentary. On the lips, I find they all feel super moisturising, light and not at all sticky in the slightest, which for me is a massive bonus in a glossier product.

These three Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfectors cost £17 each and will be available on Clarins counters and online from 28th April 2013.

Do you like the look of these Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfectors? Have you tried any of the three original shades?

Sisley Phyto Nude Lip Gloss

For a girl that's not so into lip glosses, this Sisley Phyto Lip Gloss in Nude* has well and truly won me over and featured in my day to evening make up quite regularly over the past month.

It's one of my favourite kind of shades and is a beautiful true Beige Nude. Worn on it's own, like swatched above, or on top of a lipstick it really is lovely and I find it so complimentary and not at all overbearing like I often find with other glosses.

It's the perfect formula for a lip gloss as it's not too sticky and it feels quite light on the lips making it easy maintenance with no real need for much attention.
Application is nice, although I would maybe prefer it to have a doe foot applicator rather than a brush, as a couple of times I have experienced brush lines after application, which although they disappear with the slightest pout of the lips, is the only real thing I would change.

As I mentioned, this lip gloss does feel pretty light on the lips and I find it leaves them feeling super soft and moisturised even when the gloss has worn off and needs a reapplication.

This Sisley Phyto Lip Gloss costs £30.50 for 6ml of product and is available at Sisley counters in Selfridges, Liberty, John Lewis and House of Fraser.

What do you think of this shade? Are you more of a lipstick or lip gloss girl?

Benefit High Flyin' Glosses

Coralista, Dallas, Bella Bamba, Hoola, Sugarbomb, Dandelion

I'm not really much of a lipgloss girl and to be honest, never really have been but if you're into glossy lips with a beautiful shine then this Benefit High Flyin' Lipgloss set* is an absolutely brilliant opportunity to get your hands on six of Benefits most popular shaded lip glosses, all at once.

The set is made up of six 6.5ml Ultra Plush glosses in the shades;
Coralista- Sheer Coral
Dallas- Dusty Rose
Bella Bamba- Sheer Bright Watermelon
Hoola- Shimmering Golden Nude
Sugarbomb- Shimmering Pink Nude
Dandelion- Soft Pearl Pink

Although like I said, I'm not the biggest gloss fan, these products are a pleasure to work with. They're not sticky glosses and apply smoothy to the lips without too much work. They offer quite subtle, but still very complimentary pigmentation and leave my lips feeling ever so moisturised after application.

Although I have applied these on bare lips, to show you the colour that they offer, they work beautifully well on top of lipsticks to add a little more shine, shimmer and in some cases completely transform a way a colour can look on your lips.

The glosses themselves are quite small in size, but they are still a nice size in that they aren't going to run out super quickly and you will most certainly get lots of wear from them.
If you're like me and tend to carry around a selection of lip products with you, then I think these are in fact the perfect size.

This Benefit High Flyin' Ultra Plush set is available at Benefit counters, stores and online here and cost just £19.50 which works out at an incredible £3.25 each!

Are you a lipstick or a lipgloss girl? Would these six super pretty glosses have you high flyin'?
