Revlon Colourburst Matte Balms- Elusive, Complex and Mischievous

Since hearing of the launch of the new Revlon Balms over the grapevine, I've been so excited to see the Revlon Colourburst Matte Balms in real life and thankfully, they have not disappointed in the slightest, in fact, after trying just three I'm left wanting more.

Available in ten shades, I chose to try Elusive*, Complex* and Mischievous* and I'm so pleased that I did.
Each incredibly pigmented, which I must admit I wasn't expecting, the Matte Balms apply to the lips beautifully and surprisingly for drugstore matte products, with the Triple Butter Complex that they each hold made up up Shea, Mango and Coconut Butters, these aren't drying on the lips in the slightest.

Elusive is a Medium Pink that is super complimentary and easy to wear. It's the perfect go-to shade for a daytime look but I think it would work equally well for an evening.
Complex was the shade that being a nude tone I thought I would I would favour the most and although is is a beautiful Caramel shade, I personally don't find it as complimentary as the others. It washes me out a little bit, but I do think with the right make up, it would make the perfect product.
Mischievous is definitely my favourite of the three shades that I have tried and I just know that come Spring/Summer I'm going to be reaching for it a lot. A bright Coral Orange tone, it really is stunning and having a lot of these kinds of shades in my collection already, I'd say it's really comparable to a fair few MAC lipsticks that I own.

Long lasting, incredibly pigmented and creamy, I really can't fault these Revlon Colourburst Matte Balms in the slightest and think that they were definitely worth the wait.

Available to buy now, they cost £7.99 and are available to buy at Revlon counters in Boots and Superdrug.

Do any of these three shades stand out to you?

Revlon Colourstay Shadowlink Eyeshadows

One of my main points of call when I was in New York was Duane Reade and after one too many trips to the drugstore, much to my boyfriends dismay, I finally managed to get hold of these Revlon Colourstay Shadowlink Eyeshadows.

Available in eighteen shades over three colour categories, the small single eyeshadows all lock together side by side by a simple sliding motion, giving you the opportunity to create your own custom palette, which I think is a really great idea.
With a price point of only $3.49 plus tax, these are incredible value and depending on how big or small a palette you want, even if you just want a single shade, I really like the interchanging concept.
I went for four neutral shades which is no surprise and decided to put together Cocoa, Java, Copper and Taupe. Although they're nicely pigmented, these don't carry the best formula which is slightly disappointing but for the price point which works out at about £2.40 each, you can't really go wrong.

With colours all from over the spectrum including highlighting shades, I'm really impressed with these eyeshadows and personally can't wait for them to be released in the UK to experiment with a few more of the shades.

Currently available in the US for $3.49, these Revlon Colourstay Shadowlink Eyeshadows are available in Walgreens and Duane Reade

Have you had the chance to try these? Will they be on your shopping list when they hit the UK?

Autograph Ultra Shine Twist-Up Lip Colour- Strawberry

Recently, especially for at work, I've found myself filling my make up bag with more and more moisturising, balmy lip colours and one of my newest additions has been the perfect shade for a perfect Red pout and comes in the form of Marks & Spencers Autograph Ultra Shine Twist-Up Lip Colour in Strawberry*.

Very similar to most of my other moisturising, balmy colours I have been using a lot of recently, this comes a crayon form offering the handy twist up function which I really like.
It's an incredibly pigmented true Red shade which gives amazing opacity on the lips with just one sweep. The colour really surprised me as I thought with being balm, glossy lipstick would be a lot more sheer and certainly not as Red as it is.

On the lips it feels incredibly light and moisturising, leaving my lips feeling super soft and comfortable. I don't find myself worrying as much as I sometimes do with Red lipsticks, as more often than not, when I check in the mirror for a potential top up moment, the colours still looking perfectly fresh. Bleeding and feathering isn't too much of a problem, although just like most Reds, the more you apply throughout the day, the more likely it is to happen. If you wanted to wear a lip pencil with it then I probably would recommend it but I personally don't, as these three in one type products are used more often that not for me, as a convenience lip product.

I'm really impressed with the formula and pigmentation of this Ultra Shine Twist-Up Lip Colour and although Marks & Spencers isn't a brand I wouldn't normally consider as a port of call for make up, I'm definitely going to have a little browse next time I'm in there stocking up on underwear and tasty snacks.

Available in eight different shades, Autograph Ultra Shine Twist-Up Lip Colours are available to buy online and in Marks & Spencers and cost £9.50 each.

Have you tried any Autograph make up? Does this Strawberry Ultra Shine Lip Colour look like something you would enjoy using?

Revlon Fire & Ice

Revlons Fire & Ice* lipstick is one of Revlons classic shades and was first introduced by the brand in 1952, there is no surprise that it was relaunched again in 2010 as it is such a beautiful Red shade and if you're into Red lips then this is certainly one you should try.

As far as Red lipsticks go, this is definitely one of the brighter ones that I have tried and is much of the Tomato Orange toned Red variety. Having spent 2012 adding more and more Reds into my collection, since receiving this at the 80 Years of Revlon Enamoured Exhibition it's definitely one of my preferred.
I find the shade incredibly complimentary and I think it's a Red that will see me perfectly through the Summer months as well as Winter.

It's a creamy formula which is lovely and pigmented and the colour sticks around for a good few hours before any need of a touch up. It stuck around for a pretty busy shopping trip that I endured recently with plenty of food and drink in-between, and any lipstick that can cope with little attention through times like those is a winner for me.

This Revlon Fire & Lipstick is available in Boots and Superdrug and costs £7.49

What do you think of this shade? Is it the kind of Red tone you like to wear?

Enamoured 80 years of Revlon

If you're looking for something a little different to do this weekend, I highly recommend that you pop along to the London Film Museum in Covent Garden, where a rather spectacular exhibition is being held all in the name of 80 years of Revlon.

Enamoured 80 years of Revlon is an exhibition to celebrate Revlons anniversary and the influential and innovative moments it has celebrated throughout the years.
Homing products that have been sourced from around the world, dating back to as far as the 1940's when lipsticks were like today named with beautiful titles such as Snowpoppy, Strawberry Vanilla and Baby Tangerine and products such as Chillibean Nail Enamel existed, it is definitely worth a visit.

Within the delightful Red ambiance, the gallery is full of products, art work and advertisements, some of which would still definitely appeal today. The Very Currant and Raisin Rage adverts very much reminds me of all of the Berry trend campaigns we are seeing so much of at the moment, it's funny how as far as things have changed over 80 years, they are still at the same time, so similar.

The Red Sole was a definite show stopper in amongst all of the lipsticks and nail varnishes, with lots of interest surrounding the history of the very beloved Christian Louboutin Red Sole and of course, lots of heart shaped eyes fixated on the shoes themselves.

A visit to the Enamoured 80 Years of Revlon exhibition is very much worth a trip to see, although unfortunately it is only open this weekend.

Admission is free and doors are open from 10am-6pm.

Will you be visiting the exhibition and cooing at all things Revlon?

Revlon Colourburst Berry Lip Butters

I'm surprisingly new to Revlon Colourburst Lip Butters, but after so much hype surrounding them I couldn't wait to try them out in these three Berry shades.

Berry Smoothie*, Macaroon* and Raspberry Pie* are all super pigmented lip products that work like a lipstick would in that they give great colour to your lips but at the same time work very much like a lip balm being super creamy and super easy to work with, whilst leaving your lips soft and moisturised after application.

They have been extremely popular throughout this past year but with Berry shaded lips being very on trend this Autumn Winter, these three shades are more necessary than ever. Though I don't find moisturising products like this to last on the lips as well as a lipstick would, these are a dream as they do keep you moisturised and are fool proof when it comes to touching up, the colour fades very evenly and leaves ever slight a blushed tint to your lips leaving no real need to keep topping up anyway.

Swatched in the photos above, Berry Smoothie and Macaroon don't look too far apart from each other in terms of similarity, although in real life Berry Smoothie is ever so slightly more Mauve toned compared to the Pinkier hue of Macaroon. I've built these up a little, as I definitely prefer a more pigmented lip, but they can also be worn with just a quick application to give a little tint and as much as I hate to use this phrase, in doing so, they produce a pretty "your lip but better" shade.

Raspberry Pie is the true Berry in this trio and the lightest application has such great colour pay off. It's definitely the most pigmented of the three and is a Purple toned Raspberry shade. I must admit that the photo above isn't the greatest swatch and in different lights it can look darker and a lot less bright, but it is absolutely beautiful and I can see myself reaching for it lots in the coming Winter months.

These are available to buy in Boots and Superdrug where they cost £7.99, although if you fancy trying to win one of these super softening lip butters, visit the Sweet Boutique on Revlons Facebook page where as of today running until 4th December, Revlon are very kindly giving away 100 lip butters per day. Eek! Good luck!
