This morning I was up at the crack of dawn, ready to head over to Selfridges where I was invited for a Pink Friday Breakfast before the store opened, all in the name of the new fragrance launch from Nicki Minaj- Pink Friday and the limited edition collection of handmade couture, which is has been designed for what else than to dress up your bottle.
It was an extremely Pink morning and a lovely start to the end of the week, taking place in a very empty and insanely fresh looking beauty hall with Macaroons and Croissants on tap along along with Pink themed juices flowing.
I'm not always too keen on celebrity fragrances and often find them to be slightly hit and miss, but I'm so pleased to report back that despite the ever so slightly over the top bottle, which I guess is only right having been designed with the input of the lady herself, the fragrance is really very lovely and went down really well with all of the beauty bloggers that attended, as well as the Nicki Minaj fans, or Barbz as they are also known, who were queued outside of the store since the evening before to secure their Limited Edition Couture bottle.
Pink Friday is an extremely sweet and fruity fragrance which is actually slightly reminiscent of a Juicy Couture perfume and has varied notes of Starfruit, Mandarin and Caramelised Pear throughout with slightly more floral notes such as Jasmine and Lotus Flower with Vanilla and Musks.
The bottle, as you can probably tell, is a statuesque bottle of Nicki Minaj herself and whilst it's pretty sturdy, it's also very weighty, making it more of a dressing table perfume than a handbag one. The bottle pictured above, is the 100ml deluxe size which has been designed with a very Minaj necklace around the neck, although the standard statue bottle is also available in 50ml and 30ml.
The handmade Couture by Minaj designs are available with the first 100 bottles of the 100ml Eau de Parfums purchased in Selfridges, with different designs being released both today and tomorrow with two more coming soon!
Pink Friday is available as of today in Selfridges and costs £24- 30ml, £29- 50ml and £39 for 100ml.
What do you think of Pink Friday? What notes do you look for in a scent?

I feel the same about celebrity fragrance s being a but hit or miss. I think this bottle is really tacky, however if the scent is good I will still buy it :) xx
ReplyDeleteI don't like the look of the bottle at all, but I'm really fond of the juicy Couture scents, so if it's similar to that, I'll probably like the smell :) Those pastries look lush! xx
