Magnifibres Brush-on False Lashes

Magnifibres Brush-on False Lashes* is a product that works to temporarily lengthen your lashes in a brush on method using fibres and your standard mascara.

I am aware that there are quite a few similar products available, but Magnifibres specialise in this product alone and have come up with quite an impressive, very easy to use, light brush on lash extender.
Previously to receiving this, I have tried an array of similar products including both high end and drug store two-step mascaras to lengthen my lashes in the most natural looking way possible but I must say, I am super pleased with how this product both looks and works.

Very similar to a standard mascara wand, this Magnifibres wand is covered with extremely light and fine fibres that to the eye appear very much like cotton wool. To touch, it literally feels like nothing as it is quite simply tiny fibres that when brushed onto your lashes, bind to them, adding some length with no stickiness or liquid formulas.

It's used in a three step method which is different to how I have used similar products in the past. Normally, I would apply the lash extender first and then use a mascara on top, but with this, you apply your mascara as normal and then, looking down you apply the Magnifibres to your lashes in a zig zag motion. You don't really feel as if you're putting anything on your lashes, although you can certainly see it. The fibres are very visible on your lashes and to be honest, when I first used this I worried that looking so visible, they would leave my lashes too thick and clumpy looking.
That was a very unnecessary worry of mine, as after leaving this on my lashes for around 30 seconds and then applying another coat of mascara my lashes didn't look clumpy in the slightest, and were definitely a few millimetres longer than they usually would be.

The steps can definitely be repeated in order to achieve maximum length and in that case more volume, but I am pleased with how they turn out with just one application. Magnifibres pride themselves on this product being able to lengthen your lashes up to 5mm, which although doesn't really sound a lot, is.

I have received so many compliments on how my lashes look after using this product and so it's a definitely winner on that front.

I think it's the perfect product if you're into lengthening your lashes more than a mascara can on its own or if you simply like a more dramatic look. I can't really compare this to other similar products that I have tried, as it has been quite a while since using them but I really am very impressed with the way this gives me lovely length without adding any messy clumps into the look.

This Magnifibres Brush-on False Lashes is available to buy for £20 in Selfridges and on the Magnifibres website here.

Bourjois Faux & Fabulous Event

This afternoon I popped along to the Bourjois HQ in London to have a little sneak peek of the new Faux & Fabulous collection. It was a fabulous cosmetic full afternoon, jam packed with beautiful nibbles and amazing company.

The Faux & Fabulous collection is a range of five sets of themed false lashes, all working towards different trends- Rock Chic, Smoky Eyes, Lady in Black, More Volume and Miss Couture.
They are all pretty stand out lashes, especially the fifth design Miss Couture which has been made in collaboration with Paperself- the worlds leading paper art lashes. They aren't your standard false lashes, but if you have a creative streak then these customisable paper lashes can be worn in so many different ways to create so many different looks. Sally O Neill, the make up artist demonstrating the products, used these by cutting the sections apart and applying them to both on the skin and the lashes with lash glue in a custom design which looked really fab and eye catching.

As well as the range of lashes, we were also introduced to a few new products and others that will be hitting the shelves very soon. These include a great pair of 2 in 1 eyelash applicator tweezers which have a curved end allowing a speedy and easy eyelash application and a soft angled tip on the other end which allows you to gently press down the lashes onto the lash line to ensure they are secure. Other products that we were introduced to were two fabulous new eye liners, firstly the Intuitive Liner that uses a dotting effect to ensure a precise and easy line and flick and another Khol Kajal liner that is currently exclusive to both the Selfridges Beauty Workshop and the Harvey Nichols BeautyMART, along with a Mascara which are both a part of the Queen Attitude line.

As if all of that fabulous-ness isn't enough for new arrivals to Bourjois' make up stands, they also have some new nail shades for A/W which are a metallic dream, so be sure to keep your eyes peeled for them!

The Faux & Fabulous range is available as of next week in Boots, Superdrug and ASOS and cost from £3.49-£10.99.
The Intuitive Liner is available as of this month from Boots, Superdrug and ASOS for £6.99 and the Queen Attitude collection is available now in the Selfridges Beauty Workshop and the Harvey Nichols BeautyMART but will be available nationwide from November costing £6.99 and £9.49.

I have very kindly been given a few of these items to try, so I'll be sure to share them with you shortly.

What do you think of these new products? Do they sound like products you would like to try?

Teds Beauty Spot- Shellac nails and Blink & Go lashes

On Monday evening, I visited One Aldwych, a beautiful hotel situated opposite Somerset House to pop into visit the beautiful Handpicked Media Suite, which for the day was home to Ted Baker for LFW.
I had an absolutely wonderful time and was completely spoilt by both the Ted Baker and Handpicked Media team.

The room was full of all of such beautiful clothes and I have absolutely fallen in love with a couple of bags and bikinis that you may have seen me tweet.

As well as offering very generous goodie bags, which included the most amazing Laptop Bag ever, they also offered treatments and I was very kindly given the chance to get some Blink & Go Noveau Eyelash Extensions and my first Shellac manicure! I felt like an absolute princess being pampered in such a beautiful suite, quite the dream.

You may or may not be aware, but Ted Baker has a beauty salon in there London Cheapside store- Teds Beauty Spot and as well as Eyebrow shaping and tinting, these are a couple of the treatments that they offer.

My eyelashes took about thirty minutes to apply. It went surprisingly well seeing as I usually hate anyone touching my eyes (applying lashes for me etc). The lashes were glued very delicately to my natural lashes and applied in an extremely natural looking fashion. I didn't want them to be too in your face and I am so pleased with how they look.
They are said to last for about two weeks, but I have had a couple fall out already. This isn't necessarily a bad thing right now, as if anything, they look a little more natural.

I was very, very excited to be given a Shellac manicure, so many of my friends rave about Shellac but because I usually have falsies its never been something I gone for.
After each application being set and dried in with the UV light, my nails look absolutely shiny and near perfect.
I forgot to write down the shade that was used, but its a very dark Chocolate Brown with ever such a slight Red tone.
Four days on, and I'm pleased to say they still look absolutely fabulous and theres not a scratch or chip in sight.
The downside to Shellac is that you have to have it removed, but the good thing is that I will be taking a trip to Teds Spot to do so and will be treating myself to my eyebrow goodness at the same time.

Overall, a very lovely day was had and I can't wait to visit the quirky Teds Spot now.

For the full treatment list that Teds Spot has to offer, visit there website here

Eylure Upper and Lower Lash Duo

Hey sweets,

Today I decided to go for a slightly bigger lash than normal, so I rummaged through my stash of Eylure and picked out the Upper and Lower Lash Duo. Now, I was planning on showing you the "full effect" but to be honest I looked like a clown with the lower lashes on. My eyes are far too small for any lashes that are bigger than average and anything more out there than normal can make me look a little crazy.

When we was given these at the Eylure event, Lily from llymlrs.com was at the height of the conversation. She looks amazing in them and I would really recommend you go to her fab blog to have a look at them looking there best.

The upper lashes are by far the easiest lashes I have ever applied. I have no reason why, as the adhesive strip is the same as any other but I literally applied within seconds and there was no fiddling about.
The lower lashes on the other hand were a small nightmare for me to apply. Firstly, they was originally too big for me and when I did cut them to size I just couldn't get the technique right. I do have a set of more natural Upper and Lower lashes, so I will work on my technique when trying them out.

I'm really pleased with my HD Brows now, at the beginning I was a little indecisive with the whole thing. They are quite heavily penciled in here, bur you can see the shape. I'll get a shot of them looking natural for you put up as soon as possible.

In these photos I am wearing
-MAC Studio Fix Fluid NC35
-MAC Studio Sculpt Concealer NC30
-Fashionista Blush in Rose Shine
-LOOK Lipstick in Baby Doll
-No7 Eyebrow Pencil Brown/Black
-L'oreal Architect 4D

I hope you're all really well. Not long until I go away to Thailand now so I'll try my best to get a few posts up in the meantime.

Have you tried the Upper and Lower Lash Duo?

Eylure Naturalites- Brown 020B

As promised, here are a pair of the Eylure lashes that I was kindly given at the Eylure event.

They are apart of the Naturalites range and are in 020B Brown. They offer to give you natural volume and that is exactly what they do.

I usually wear Black mascara as well as Black lashes, but Brown proves to look a lot more natural on me and I think that I will be experimenting with Brown lashes a bit more now.

I have worn these for the past two days at work and really enjoy wearing them.
They are extremely lightweight so you can barely feel them on your natural lashes which is a definite win with falsies.

These lashes come boxed with a little Eylure glue- which in my opinion works just as well as the Duo glue and cost about £5.25. Full stocklists are available on the Eylure website here.

(Excuse the untidy eyebrows, I have booked in for HD Brows and so I am trying to resist plucking to allow them to grow out)

I'm not really sure whether to do individual posts on the lashes that I wear or wait a little while and do one big post? Please comment below and let me know what you think.

I hope you're all well.

Eylure and Elegant Touch Event

For those of you that like to indulge in a little bit of fakery like myself, I'm sure you can imagine how excited I was when I was invited to attend an Eylure and Elegant Touch event at Callooh Callay, Shoreditch.

Both brands were showcasing there latest products which are super, some of which I was also lucky enough to get my hands on.

On arrival to the event I must admit I was pretty overwhelmed, we entered the bar and walked through a lion, witch and the wardrobe-like door and was met with a room full of lashes and nails- what a dream!
The room was full of such lovely bloggers (impossible to name them all) but my favourite ever-Vivianna was there and I finally got to meet the gorgeous CorrieJennifer and Milly which was an absolute treat. We got the chance to try both brands ranges whilst sipping on the most delightful (rather strong) cocktails.

I was really spoilt for choice when it came to choosing products and was very kindly offered a few sets of each and I promise that as of tomorrow I will share them all with you- some are slightly over the top for me so please, beware!

I literally cannot wait to get all TOWIE, stick on my nails and flutter all of my new lashes! Excited.

Some of the products to keep your eye out for are-
Elegant Touch Envy Wraps
Elegant Touch UV Gel Coat Polished Nails
Various Eylure Naturalites as well as the fabulous Upper and Lower lash duos which I am very excited to try.

I hope you're all fabulous and I really, really look forward to sharing lot's of fab Eylure and Elegant Touch goodies with you...

A few things I'm loving right now..

I've not really done a "loving right now" post as such before, but I really wanted to share with you a few things that I'm reaching for daily and enjoy using..

Tigi Bed Head After Party- I love this smoothing cream, I love to smooth my ends down with this after I straighten my hair. It smells SO amazing too!

VO5 High Volume Weather Resistant Hairspray- I never really stray away from L'oreal Paris Elnett, I've used that forever but recently I was in Superdrug and saw this on offer for 2 for £4.50 which is pretty incredible seeing as its a 400ml spray. The word 'Volume' initally got my attention and seeing as I go through hairspray quicker than any other product because of work so I thought I would stock up and I'm really pleased.
It has all the same factors as L'oreal Elnett, its possibly a little "harder" when it dries and not as easily brushed out but its still a really good hairspray that I hugely recommend.

Nivea invisible 48 hour deodorant- Okay, pretty wierd to blog about yes, but we all use it so why not? Its amazing, it really does the job well! This is a protection from yellow stains and white marks which is important because I hate when clothes get deodorant marks on them-gross!
This has an ingredient that really chokes me and dries out my throat but I can get past that...
I'm not so sure still why they need to create a 48 hour deodorant? But hey! It costs about £2.

Soltan Tan Prolonger Aftersun- I have a confession, recently I've been hitting the sunbeds. I know I promised not to, but I want a nice colour base for the Summer!
I picked up this Soltan Aftersun Tan Prolonger from Boots literally just to moisturise my skin with before bed. It has a little bit of fake tan- hardly none, but it really keeps my skin moisturised and therefore prevents any peeling or dryness. It also has Cocoa Butter in it which I really like. I got this for £5.49 but at the moment its only £2.74. You can get it from Boots or online here.

Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer- Erm hello the most amazing concealer I've possibly ever used?
I haven't used anything from Collection 2000 since I was in my teens, but I had heard this being raved about quite abit so was interested to see what the hype was. Amazing!
I got it in two shades 4 Deep and 3 Medium (I think- the stickers gone), I tend to use the 4 Deep the most. I really love it, its such a nice consistency to work with and has great coverage. Its great over little blemishes and for my dark circles. It costs £4.19 which is pretty fantastic!
You can get this in Boots or online here.

I love my corner lashes, but find them really hard to get hold of. I usually use the Sleek Havana's, but was in a huge rush for the Kim Kardashian Launch last week so picked these ones up in Boots. They are really easy to use and really light on your eyes. They was on 3 for 2 and cost £4.34.

I hope your all fab

Ardell False Eyelashes- BLACK 105

I was sent these Ardell lashes in Black 105 and couldn't wait to get them stuck on.
For my eyes, I thought they would be quite huge. I normally only use corner lashes, but infact, they actually looked okay. I had a look on Ardells website, and these lashes are recommended for Large eyes- as you can see, I have quite small eyes.
My left eye is smaller that the right, and I wasn't as happy with how it looked on that one, but I think maybe after a little trim they will be perfect.
These lashes come with adhesive and are packed in a little carry case which is so handy as I lose so many lashes all of the time!

They are really lightweight, soft and so pleasant to use.
Ardell lashes are made from sterilized 100% Human hair to look and feel like your own, which explains why they are so soft as opposed to other brands I have used in the past that feel quite cheap.

Ardell has the worlds largest selection of easy to use, premium quality false lashes.
I can't believe I haven't purchased any before.
After looking on there website, they have so many I'm going to try.
They have a HUGE selection, and there website is incredibly helpful. I know some of my friends never know which ones to try because they don't know what will suit them, but on the Ardell website, there all categorised into eye shapes, styles and occasions. They even have a 'Find your perfect lash' tool which is fab.
Have a little look here.

These particular lashes retail for about £5/£6

(please excuse my dressing gown, my fake tan was drying..)
