Toni & Guy Infusion Straightener

Up until the last month or so, straightening my hair seemed to have been a thing of the past and all things straightening seemed to have been retired to the back of my hair box, but when I was contacted by Toni & Guy and asked a series of questions in relation to my hair style, that were matched to the likes of Kate Middleton, who was I to argue and was up for straightening my hair more than ever.

I was very kindly given the new Toni & Guy Infusion Straightener* in order to achieve my straightest locks in a very long time and having not strayed away from one brand of straighteners for the past ten years or so, I have been thoroughly impressed!

A tiny bit bulkier than I'm used to, I was a little concerned that the Infusion Straightener would be difficult to work with, but it is in fact really comfortable to use and holding a very exciting feature, was really easy too. With an attachable section that holds a fair amount of heat protection mist, on closure of the straightener to the hair, the treatment is infused into the hair via the centre of the plates, in order to help protect your hair, leaving it straight, silky smooth and heat protected. I must admit, at first I did think this was a little gimmicky and a little over the top, as quite frankly how long does it take to spray a few spritzes by hand, but it really does make a difference and my hair looked surprisingly shiny after it had been straightened by temperatures up to 230C.

I've found myself really impressed with Toni & Guys Infusion straighter and costing pretty much half of what my previous straighteners have cost, if you're on the market for a decent straightener that carries variable temperature settings to suit your hair type and something a little gimmicky, I can't recommend this enough. Costing £79.99 (although it currently seems to be half price), you can pick one of these up in Boots

What do you think of the Toni & Guy Infusion Straightener? Does the infusing conditioning treatment feature appeal to you?

Toni & Guy Serum Drops

Every now and then I like to spoil my hair with a couple of drops of serum and since receiving these Toni & Guy Serum Drops* I have become hooked.

It's used to help prevent frizz and those horrid fly-aways and give your hair a high shine and gloss,
and that is exactly what is does.

All that's needed is two drops and your hair is glistened with shine and feels so smooth and glossy to the touch.
I find it's best used for when I'm wearing my hair straight, as although it calms my fly-aways it does make it so soft and glossy that it's best in a straight, simple and glossed style rather than up, as it falls quicker and is too soft to work with.

I personally use two drops of this on slightly damp hair like a hair oil, from the mid-lengths to the ends before I blow dry it, although judging by the directions for use, it is meant to be used on dry hair which to be fair, is how most serums are used. I probably shouldn't use it like this, but it works for me.
At just 30ml, it's a tiny enough bottle to carry around with you to smooth through your hair on the go although it is glass so possibly would be a little weighty for a on the go hair product.

I like how serums work in my hair and find this one also seals the ends of my hair pretty well (thank goodness!), but the downside to them is I find my hair does need washing quicker than what it would if I didn't use them. I also find occasionally, if I use them on my dry hair anything after after day one it doesn't look or feel as good so I tend to only use them to calm down my day one frizzy hair.

This product is a part of the Toni & Guy Glamour range and is available in Boots in store and online here for £7.19.

Do you use a serum to smooth through your hair?

Toni & Guy Hair Meet Wardrobe

Last Thursday I attended a rather fabulous event in Shoreditch, London for part of the countdown to London Fashion Week with Toni & Guy Hair Meet Wardrobe

Toni & Guy invited a few bloggers to be pampered and pampered we was! We were each met with delicious canapés and bubbles, talked through a few of the catwalk hairstyles with the team and led to hair and make up where as I'm sure you can imagine, I was completely in my element. I didn't really know what to expect from the event so wasn't prepared at all, but after a cheeky little mojito, I was more than happy to oblige to an evening of photos and styling.

We each had a look through the tablet over a glass of bubbles, to decide what look we was going for and of course, I decided on Glamour. Glamour was the look that appealed to me most- huge hair, volume and bounce. I had my hair styled and trimmed by the fabulous Sabrina and my gosh, what a wonderful job she did. She taught me lots of new tricks of how to get my hair huge with the Toni & Guy Glamour range, including one fab trick of using mousse twice on dry hair which surprisingly, I have never done before.

I kept my make up pretty much the same, though the make up artist experimented with a mixture of Pink and Orange lip products, to create one beautiful gloss shade for me. Though the photo above was taken at the end of the evening and is bleeding slightly there, it was absolutely fabulous all throughout the evening and I had so many compliments on it.

The clothes and accessories I decided to wear for the photo shoot, were a Black playsuit from Monki which I thought was simple and classic, a beautiful Satchel and Shoes from Peter Jensen, a Hat which is so not my usual style and a mixture of wonderful bronze jewellery. I felt really comfortable in this outfit and it's definitely something that I would wear on a normal evening, not just in front of the lights and camera ;)

As a part of the Hair Meet Wardrobe campaign and to celebrate the coming of London Fashion Week, Toni & Guy have teamed up with street style blogger Facehunter and are challenging you to take a photo a day, documenting your personal style, the things you love and what inspirers you through a Hair Meets Wardrobe lens on both Instagram and Twitter. This begins on Saturday 1st September through to the 14th and all you need to do is take your photo and add @hair_wardrobe or #hairmeetwardrobe to it.

At the event, we was each given a pretty amazing goodie bag filled with such exciting products, along with a rather fabulous Happy Box which I think is such a nice idea. I can't wait to get started with the products myself to see if I can recreate some of the looks that I have spotted online

A really fabulous night was had and I'm super looking forward to following all of the hashtags throughout LFW.

Have you looked at the Hair Meets Wardrobe looks? What's your style? Are you Casual, Glamour, Creative or Classic?
