Leonor Greyl and Johnnie Sapong at Cannes

Cannes Film Festival is one of those delightful annual occasions that set in the beautiful French Riviera on top of the Blue seas and luxurious marina, is full of the extremely fabulous and in one word can only be described as glamorous.

Of course, we all love a little glamour and I particularly loved following the Red Carpet action throughout May to see who was wearing what and of course, the hair and beauty trends.

Cannes oozes luxury and sophistication and the dresses and tresses that appeared on the Red Carpet throughout were second to none. Many of the hairstyles that caught my eye were styled by the fantastic Leonor Greyl team using their range of natural and luxurious products and I personally thought they stole the show as such and fell perfectly into the ever so chic atmosphere.

Hair stylist to the stars Johnnie Sapong, created some very beautiful looks using Leonor Greyl throughout the film festival and some of the very natural looking chic looks that stood out to me were on Joan Smalls, Karlie Kloss, Ahna O'Reilly and Eva Herzigovas.

Using a range of natural products including Éclat Naturel; a styling cream that works to condition and detangle and Huile Secret de Beauté which is multipurpose oil for hair and skin that leaves your hair feeling so soft and looking incredibly shiny, Johnnie worked his art to perfection and it was clear that his passion of luxury, nature and beauty worked beautifully in the collaboration.

I've been attempting to recreate both Eva Herzigovas and Joan Smalls perfectly exquisite looks myself and have found Huile Secret de Beauté to be such a lovely product to help provide my quite damaged hair with the lovely shine and sleek softness needed for both Evas sleek bun and Joans beautifully chic tousled waves, whilst also treating my hair to the nourishment it currently so desperately needs. The oil is a luxurious blend of Lemon Grass, Tiare and Yucca and works beautifully well both in my hair and spritzed onto my skin; allowing both to be pampered and infused with the most delicious of scents.

If you fancy a little red carpet hair treatment yourself, Leonor Greyl products are available to buy at Selfridges, Cult Beauty, Bliss Pharmacy, John Bell & Croyden and Net-A-Porter, although currently Huile Secret de Beauté is only available to buy in Harrods pharmacy and Net-A-Porter.

What's your favourite look that Johnnie Sapong created? Have you tried any Leonor Greyl products?

Bourjois Summer 2013

Last night I popped over to the Bourjois HQ in London to have a little look at the new products that Bourjois have to offer this Summer 2013 and I thought I would give you a little peek into the beauties that are ready to hit counters next month.

Bourjois continue to impress me with the fantastic quality that their products offer and I really love the diverse range of pretty shades and formulas that they continue to bring to the table. Summer 2013 is sees a fair few new releases from Bourjois and just like with any brand/collection, I have my stand outs products that I am super excited about.

Bourjois' take on the Chubby Stick/Balm Stain, Bourjois Colour Boost Lipsticks are something that I've been looking forward to for quite a while now and honestly, I can't get enough. As soon as I set my eyes on them, I knew the shades were my ideal tones and I couldn't wait to get swatching. 01 Red Sunrise, 02 Fuchsia Libre, 03 Orange Punch and 04 Peach on the Beach are all divine and costing £7.99 each, they make up the perfect tones to see you through Summer. I'll be reviewing my two featuring my two favourite shades shortly, can you guess which ones they are?

Three products that I have found myself reaching for pretty frequently are the Maxi Delight Bronzer*, the BB Bronzing Cream* and the Bronzing Primer* and although I'm yet to finish my reviews on them, I can assure you that they are drug store must haves that if you're into being bronzed, will keep you looking beautifully sunkissed and especially Summer ready.

For the past year, I have found myself continually raving about both the colour range and the Gel formula that Bourjois Nail 1 Seconde Nail Enamels offer and although I'm quite the colour bore, the two new shades stood out to me from afar and in particular, 22 Turquoise Block is a dream and I can see it being the perfect shade to wear with a tan. 23 In the Navy isn't really a shade I would necessarily go for, but if you're into Blues, this is a perfect bright tone and probably one of the most flattering Blues  available for Summertime.

Just like Blue nails, I've said it before, I'm not massive on nail art, however, Bourjois are set to launch some pretty fabulous products, some of which after being demonstrated to me by the pros, have appealed a fair bit. Laser Toppings by Bourjois create the perfect glittery, sparkly nail which although I usually find more appealing throughout the colder months, are really very pretty and come in a range of three shades; Blue Neon, Sun Scales and Aqua Purple- all of which can build up to full coverage on the nail and look incredibly pretty. If more detailed nail art is your thing, then the Nail Art Dotting Tool priced at just £3.99 could be for you. Made easy, the double ended tool works a treat at creating the perfect polka dot designs which really do look so girly and dreamy, as do the new Manicure Toppings.

Other new launches that excited me include the travel sized, full sized mascaras. Volume Glamour Max Holidays come in four shades and although I first found them pretty reminiscent of coloured hair mascaras that I spent my childhood applying in streaks to my locks, they are super complimentary to different eye colours and perfect for holiday times, have a 24 hour waterproof formula which is perfect for both the sun and the pool.

Last and by no means least, the limited edition Vintage Candle which carries the exact same Powdery Rose scent that the infamous Bourjois Blushes carry, is absolutely beautiful! Available exclusively to Selfridges, I'll be picking one of these up for sure. The scent as well as the vintage Babette design from the 1920's imagery are both so lovely and I already have a place in mind where this candle will sit absolutely perfectly.

Available in Selfridges, Boots, Superdrug and ASOS, these products will all be available as of July.

Keep your eyes peeled for some reviews on some of my Summer 2013 picks; which will most definitely include two of my favourite Colour Boost Lipsticks as well as the new bronzing range, which I have been using for a while now and can't get enough of.

Do any of these products stand out for you? Will you be visiting a Bourjois counter with any of these products in mind?

Thierry Mugler Alien Radiant Body Cream

When it comes to perfumed body creams and matching my lotions to my fragrance, I've never really been blown away and there has only ever been a couple of stand out ones, that have usually been a secondary part of a gift set or something similar. In saying that, Thierry Mugler have created four indulgent body moisturisers, following four of their iconic fragrance lines; Angel, Alien, Womanity as well as an Alien Body Balm and I must say that the Alien Radiant Body Cream* is a definite stand out lotion for me that I have been reaching for daily seen receiving it.

Packaged in a weighty glass bottle and following the same design as the fragrance itself, Alien Radiant Body Cream is a pleasure to use and smells exactly the same as the perfume, making it a perfect and luxurious product to wear both alone and to layer with the fragrance, to make the scent a little more long lasting.

It appears quite thick and rich looking inside the tub, but is actually extremely light and absorbs into the skin beautifully well, with the Camellia Oil working to moisturise and soften whilst also giving your skin a radiance and illuminating effect, with the ever so subtle shimmering pure gold particles that run throughout.
The shimmer really is ever so subtle, perfect for a girl like me who often fears looking like a glitter ball at the slightest mention of shimmer, and I find it is the perfect body cream particularly for a summer evening out.

I'm really impressed with this lotion and find it's the perfect moisturising option to keep your scent lingering throughout the day.

Smelling of the distinctive Alien with rich floral, Amber and Woody notes, this 200ml body cream costs £44 and is available to buy now in available in House of Fraser and John Lewis.

What do you think of perfumed body creams? Are you a fan of Thierry Mugler? Will you be trying Alien, Angel or Womanity?

Pixi Glow Tonic

Thanks to skincare expert and blogger Caroline, I would say this is probably one of the most sought after products at the moment and after totally buying into the hype surrounding the phenomenon that is Pixi Glow Tonic, I visited the Carnaby Street store one too many times in order to get my hands on this toner and after incorporating it into my daily regime once/twice a day, I can confirm it is incredible and has become a must have.

Described as a dupe for P50 by Caroline (I'm yet to try P50), although a lot less pennies at only £16, this toner is both oil and alcohol free and works to tone, firm and tighten the skin whilst exfoliating away dead skin cells with the Glycolic Acid ingredient. Glycolic Acid is an acid exfoliating ingredient that my skin currently loves and although I find anything with it in the ingredients leaves my skin looking and feeling great, using this product daily has worked especially beautifully and has helped to put my skin in such a nice, clear condition, where for the first time in quite a while, I'm happy to go make up free.
Other than Glycolic Acid which is the seventh ingredient, this also includes Ginseng, Aloe Vera and Witch Hazel which are the main ingredients that work towards toning, firming, softening and tightening the skin and together, work a treat.

When it comes to skin care, I've tried a fair bit, but deserve a little bit of a slap on the wrists as toning is the step that up until now I have missed out, pretty frequently. However, since noticing a huge difference in the overall condition of my skin, I've realised just how important it is and it will most certainly not be a step I miss out on from here on.

I am ever so pleased with this Pixi Glow Tonic and if I have sucked you further into the hype surrounding this Pixi Skin Treat, it costs £16 and is available to buy in the Pixi Store in Fouberts Place, London, although there's a possibility there will be a waiting list, so it's worth giving them a call first.

Have you tried the Pixi Glow Tonic? What's your go-to skin treat?

Origins No Puffery Cooling Roll On

This week my under eye area suffered an all time low when the dreaded signs of hay fever hit me in the most puffy, itchy and overall irritating way possible. Thankfully, I had this new Origins No Puffery Cooling Roll On* to hand, which has worked a dream at cooling my under eye area; soothing it and leaving it looking a little less puffy.

Origins No Puffery Cooling Roll On works to de-puff and reduce signs of tired puffy eyes using a really light formula that works around the small metal rollerball, gently massaging the area with Hoelen Mushroom extract to reduce redness and Aloe Vera and Cucumber to hydrate, nourish and soften.

Applied from the inner and the outer corner of the under eye and sinking into the skin pretty quickly, I have found this roll on a really pleasant product to use and by far the best one of its type that I have tried to date. Although I must admit, I don't notice any crazy difference in the darkness of my under eye area after using this, I certainly feel a lot more refreshed, soothed and cooled and so over the past week it has been the perfect product to begin and end my day, especially on those where my hay fever has been somewhat troublesome.

This Origins No Puffery Cooling Roll On for puffy eyes costs £24 and is currently exclusive to Selfridges although come July it will be available both nationwide and online.

Do you suffer with puffy eyes? Does this cooling roll on sound like something that would benefit you?

Kiehl's Bath and Shower Grapefruit Liquid Body Cleanser

Way back in Christmas time, my boyfriend braved the Kiehl's counter to pick me out a few products and boy did he do a good job. Knowing my love for anything citrus scented and sweet, he picked out some of the Grapefruit range and I must say I am very pleased with each of his decisions.

Back in February I raved about the Nashi Blossom and Pink Grapefruit Body Lotion which is now unfortunately very much finished and I'm sad to say that after then, this Bath and Shower Grapefruit Liquid Body Cleanser kind of got pushed to the back of my product shelf by complete and utter mistake, until about a month ago when I came across it again and have since, been absolutely loving it.

Just like in the title, it is in fact very liquid as opposed to the normal thicker consistency shower gels often carry and for that reason, although not alone, I really enjoy using it. On the initial squeeze of the bottle, I never really envisage it doing a really good job but honestly, this body cleanser leaves you feeling so satisfyingly clean and fresh.

The Grapefruit scent adds to the perfect formula that this Kiehls Body Cleanser offers and although it is perfect for all year round, it's especially beautiful in the Summer months.

I really love how clean, refreshed and soft this leaves my body and so if a gentle and light textured bath and shower product is what you like, then I would highly recommend it.

Available online and at Kiehls stores and counters in Selfridges and Liberty, this 250ml bottle costs £19.

As cliche as it sounds, when I wake up, my mood for the day ahead is often determined by the weather  or the brightness around me and normally follows the rule, the brighter the better, which is why I recently decided to change my bedroom decor to bright White in order to help start my day happy and fresh minded.

REN Glycolactic Radiance Renewal Mask

A few things I enjoy; good skin, fruity scents and face masks. Voila! This REN Glycolactic Radiance Renewal Mask* offers all three and more and has been my go to acid induced face mask for the past couple of months. After reading so many raves about it in the past, I'm pretty much kicking myself for not following the trend and trying it sooner.

Made up of Glycolic, Lactic, Citrus and Tartaric and infused with extracts such as Passionfruit, Grape, Pineapple and Lemon, I really can't get enough of how this both smells on the skin and leaves the skin feeling after 10 minutes of work weekly. I've recently become pretty obsessed with skincare, especially with products that have acidic components in the ingredients and my skin is thankfully so much happier since introducing them into my routine.

This mask, although it's pretty gooey and not the nicest texture I have ever worked with, is such a pleasure to use and after removing it from my skin with a muslin cloth, my skin is left exfoliated and looking really fresh and bright. I can't say I've noticed any change to my dare I say it, fine lines, I think they're there for good, but I feel as if it definitely keeps my skin looking a lot more radiant and is one of the products in my current routine that has worked to give me the confidence to go make up free more regularly.

Whilst this face mask is working its magic, I do experience a slight tingly sensation on the areas that it's applied, but that's completely normal with any product similar to this one and is nothing to worry about.

I'm really super impressed with this mask and every time I use it I'm pleased with the results. I have a feeling it's going to have a place within my ever changing skincare routine for a fairly long time.

REN Glycolactic Radiance Renewal Mask costs £30 and is available to buy online as well as in Look Fantastic, Space NK, John Lewis and Cult Beauty.

Have you tried this mask? I would love to know what your thoughts.

Ciate Denim Manicure

If nail art is your kinda thing and I know it is for a lot of people, then this Ciate Denim Manicure set which is exclusive to Selfridges may well be for you.

A box set consisting of a Blue Ciate paint pot with a grainy shimmer running throughout it to give a denim effect, a nail glue, a set of thread effect transfers and an array of different studs to decorate your nails as you please, this Ciate Manicure Set offers you all the bits and bobs to create a very Denim look.

Personally, I think this effect is slightly too out there and far from my love of natural looking nails but personal taste aside, if you enjoy getting creative with your nails then this is a fab little set.

The polish is extremely easy to use and one coat provides a completely opaque and super quick drying colour that even worn alone looks pretty. The choice of studs and transfers is pretty varied, which allows for a fair amount of applications, although I imagine if you look after your nails well anyway, you could probably re-use the studs.

Overall, I think this is a definite one for nail art enthusiasts and if dazzling with denim is to your taste and you don't find it all too B*Witched, this Ciate Set is available exclusively to Selfridges and costs £12.

What do you think of this Ciate set? Is DIY nail art something you enjoy?
